Chapter 12

"She'll live. ... I guess." Cyno smirked at Sethos, the concern on his face not going unnoticed by him. "C'mon, it's only a week, just go already." He nudged Sethos towards the bus. "Okay, okay..." He sighs, giving me a soft smile, before turning around and walking to the other students in his course.

"I don't wanna see this..." I whine, leaning my head on Tighnari's shoulder. "Oh, come on..." He sighs softly, smiling down at me. "I think I'm gonna faint." I place my hand on my forehead, mumbling. "Either the sun is literally scorching right now, or I'm hallucinating..."

I look up at the cloudless sky, immediately blinded by the light. "Ah- ... No hallucination. It's really getting hot, huh." Cyno and Tighnari nod in agreement. "Yep. We should definitely cool off somehow. Suggestions?" Cyno asks, brushing his hair out of his face. 

"We can go to the café, if you're up for it.", Tighnari suggests, and we both nod in agreement. "I swear the sun's gonna fry us." Humming in agreement, I take both Cyno's and Tighnari's hand, pulling them with me. 

As soon as we step inside the café, cool air envelops us, making all of us sigh in relief. "I would've passed out any second.", I groan as we sit down at a table in the back of the room. "Me too..." Tighnari adds. 

We all order something, silently eating/drinking. Not even Cyno bothers to start a conversation, which is weird, almost scary. So eventually, I break the silence. "Guys?" The two look up at me.

"Any plans for the week?" Tighnari thinks for a moment, then pulls out his phone. "Don't tell me you have a list??" Cyno asks, baffled, while Tighnari just grins at him. "It's not much either. Just a few ideas I had in case we needed some distraction," Tighnari replies, scrolling through his phone. 

"Well, there's the new exhibit at the botanical garden, and I thought we could go check out? I raise an eyebrow, intrigued. "The botanical garden? I think I've been there once or twice with Sethos." The boys share a knowing glance, before Cyno replies: "A date, huh?"

Before I can smack him, Tighnari already continues with his list. "There's also a local food festival starting tomorrow," Tighnari says, his eyes lighting up. "Lots of different cuisines to try, and it's a good way to spend a few hours until evening."

Cyno nods, a hint of excitement in his expression. "Food festival sounds great. I'm always up for trying new things. Anything else on that list of yours?"

Tighnari scrolls down, then smiles. "There's a night market on Friday. Lots of interesting stalls, street performers, and it's much cooler in the evening."

I perk up at that. "A night market sounds fun. I have never been to one, but Sethos always drags me to flea markets... There' always a lot of interesting and peculiar stuff. And it'll be a nice way to end the week."

We finalize our plans, and as we finish our drinks, the mood lightens. We laugh and joke, the earlier tension forgotten. It feels good to have something to look forward to, and I know the week will pass quickly with these activities.

As the three of us stroll through the busy streets, I get a message from Sethos. My heart immediately beats a million times faster. "Wait a second...", I say to Cyno and Tighnari as I open the chat. They both smile at my obvious excitement.
