Chapter 1

『Reader POV』

"[name]..? Hey.. Wake up!" I feel someone gently nudge my side and my eyes flutter open as I look around, slightly disoriented. My gaze falls on a strangely familiar figure standing next to my bed, their eyes holding an amused sparkle.

"Five minutes more, mum...", I mumble, not quite aware of my surroundings. My vision is blurred, my voice barely audible as I roll over, burying my face in the pillow. Maybe I can sleep a bit longer, I think and close my eyes again, snuggling into the sheets. Not even a second later, the blanket is snatched away from me, the sudden cold hitting my body. Quickly, my eyes snap open and I turn around, trying to reach out for the blanket. "Mum, give it back.." My speech is still slurred as I fight the urge to close my eyes again.

"I'm not your mother, sleepyhead.", a familiar voice makes me stop in my tracks and I withdraw my hand, giving up on getting the blanket back as I realize who's really standing in front of my bed. "Sorry... I wasn't really awake yet." A yawn escapes my lips as I sit up, gazing at my roommate, who still holds my blanket. "Now give it back." I reach out for the blanket, but Sethos pulls it out of my reach right before I can grab it.

"You little...", I grumble a barely audible insult and stand up to get my blanket back. Before I can do anything, my knees give in and I have to sit back on the bed again, closing my eyes. "You okay?", Sethos asks and sits next to me, placing his hand on my knee. "Damn, you're cold-!" He quickly pulls away and chuckles. "Yeah, laugh all you want. But give me back my blanket..! That's probably why I'm cold. So it's your fault."

He raises a brow and grins. "My fault? Sure... Still not gonna give it to you." He has already tossed the blanket to the floor, and when I stand up to grab it, he wraps his arms around my waist, pulling me back onto the bed. "How about I warm you up?" 

"No. I swear to Celestia, if you won't give me back the damn blanket-" Sethos interrupts me by placing his finger on my lips. "Nuh-uh... No swearing.", he teases and grins, playfully flicking my forehead. "Ow-! Why did you even wake me up? Can't I sleep in on a Saturday?" 

"Well, technically you can, but who said I'd let you?" He's obviously enjoying the banter between us, but sometimes I just want to strangle him. Seriously, this guy's a bother. But he's a really good friend, and surprisingly good at keeping secrets. I could basically tell him that I murdered someone, and no one would ever find out. I guess I can't bring myself to hate him, for... various reasons.

"So... why did you wake me up now?", I asked, still annoyed, but also curious. "You can let me go by the way." He shakes his head, wrapping his arms tighter around me, pulling my back against his chests. "You're cold as heck. And I woke you up because I wanted to make breakfast together. And, we wanted to meet up with Cyno and Tighnari. You forgot?" 

"Ohhhh..." I facepalm at my own forgetfulness. "Right, sorry. Don't tell them I forgot, yeah?" I give him a lopsided grin. "Sure. They won't hear a thing from me." He ruffles my hair, and I quickly smack his hand away. "You can't survive an hour without touching my hair, can you?", I groan in annoyance. "I could, b-" "Silence. Or you have to make breakfast alone." 

Sethos parts his lips to say something, but holds his breath instead and remains silent. "Good." A quiet yawn escapes my lips as fatigue washes over me again. "Come on now, it's almost 10 am, you can't be tired." Sethos grins and lets go of me, standing up from the bed right before I wanted to lean against him. "Lets see how good your cooking skills are, shall we?", I tease and rub my eyes. "Okay, okay... I'm quiet." He extends his hand towards me and help me stand up. "I was joking. What do you want to eat, hm?" He clings onto me, mumbling into my ear. "Pancakes. Pretty pleeeeease?"
