Taehyun
"You might want to rein him in a little, Taehyun. He looks like he's about to fracture into a million pieces."
I glanced down at Beomgyu and then winced when I saw the pinched look on his face. Chris was right. Beomgyu was on the verge of freaking out. I couldn't very well blame the guy. He had just escaped a fate worse than death and was about to jump off the cliff into another one.
Not to say married life with me would be horrible—at least I didn't think it would be—but he was walking into the unknown, over hot coals and bits of broken glass, blindfolded, carrying a piano on his shoulders.
Anyone would be a little freaked out.
I glanced around as we walked through the courthouse corridor. "I need a quiet corner somewhere."
I knew of only one way to settle him.
"There's a bathroom up ahead. Felix and I will watch the door if you want to take him in there."
I was glad that Chris understood what I needed to do. I wasn't surprised that he did. He'd been right there with me and Yeonjun when we'd partied back at the university. He knew a submissive when he saw one.
How Yeonjun had missed that his brother was a submissive I would never know.
"I just need a few minutes with him."
"Take however long you need," Chris replied. "I'll keep an eye out for Yeonjun and his family."
"Thank you."
As soon as we reached the bathroom, I steered Beomgyu in that direction. He stopped just outside the door and opened his mouth, but I pushed the door open and pressed a hand to the small of his back to keep him moving.
Once inside, I quickly checked to make sure we were alone before turning to him and pointing to the floor in front of me. "Come here, Beomgyu."
Beomgyu's eyes widened for a moment before he walked over to stand in front of me. His fingers gripped the bottom of his shirt so tightly, they were turning white.
I reached over and curved a hand around the nape of his neck, giving him a gentle, yet firm, squeeze. "What has you so unsettled, baby boy? Didn't I say I would take care of you?"
"Yes, but..."
"But what?" He gulped when my eyes narrowed. "Did you think I was lying, Beomgyu?"
"N-No, sir."
"Then what is it? What has you so scared?"
"They're going to find me," he whispered desperately. "They always find me."
"So they find you. So what?"
Beomgyu's brow flickered. "They will make me go back."
I was starting to think I needed to sit down and have a long talk with him about how Hana and her family treated him because it really seemed like there was a lot more going on here than I originally knew.
I just didn't have the time to do it right now.
"Listen to me very carefully, Beomgyu." I waited a moment before asking, "Are you listening to me?"
He nodded quickly.
"I don't care if they find you. Let them come. They are not going to stop me from marrying you and making sure that you are safe from them. Do you understand that?"
Beomgyu was slower to nod this time, but he did nod.
I called that a win.
"There are a lot of people that they have to get through to get to you, but the one they really need to be afraid of is me. Until you decide otherwise, you belong to me, and no one takes what is mine."
