"Hey, Chris."
Chris was standing down the hallway with one of the lab assistants when I called out to him. He turned and then smiled when he spotted me. "Hey, Taehyun. Rina told me you needed to see me. I was headed up to your office after this."
"That's kind of what I wanted to talk to you about."
"What?"
"My office. Beomgyu did a little redecorating and he wanted to get your and Felix's opinions on what he did." I was thrilled about the changes he had made over the last month.
My office looked so much better, but it was nothing compared to the changes Beomgyu had made in our condo. While he had kept most of the furniture in both places, the splashes of color he'd added here and there made them look so different, so much brighter and more comfortable.
I couldn't wait to show both places off.
I nodded to the man standing with Chris when I finally reached them. "How are you doing, Soobin?"
"I'm good, sir."
"What did I say about that?" I asked. "Call me Taehyun. We both work in the same place."
Kim Soobin might work as a bio-engineer in the lab with Hamill, but he was still an employee of Chris' company. That made us co-workers.
Soobin's face flushed with color. "Yes, sir."
"Soobin was just giving me the final report on those trackers. He was able to track down the components we didn't make to a small factory in Los Angeles. Once I turn this over to the FBI, they'll be able to go in and arrest the guys behind this. Hopefully, it will lead back to the men in Columbia."
"Do you think the FBI will be able to do anything about them?"
"Probably not," Chris shrugged. "But they might be able to stop their reach into the US."
I could only hope. While the main players in our little drama were now behind bars—and would stay there for many years—I still worried about the people in Columbia that Hana and her father were trying to sell the fake trackers to. They were still out there and that made them dangerous.
"Beomgyu is waiting for us," I reminded him.
We were planning a housewarming party for this weekend, but I wanted to show Chris my office now. I was pretty sure that once he saw the changes Beomgyu had made, he'd want him to do the same to his office.
"Yes, of course." Chris gave a quick nod to Soobin. "If you find out anything more, let me know." He lifted the papers in his hand. "I'll turn this over to the FBI. Hopefully, that means they can close the case."
"I think you will find everything you need to put these people behind bars in that report, sir. Several of the components were purchased through legitimate means, but not all of them. There's a list at the back of all the companies that sold illegal goods to the Lim family."
Chris flipped through the pages to the end of the stack and then read over the list. Luckily, it seemed to be a short one from what I could see.
"This looks good, Soobin. Thank you."
"Anytime, sir."
Chris tucked the file under his arm and then turned to me. "So, tell me what is so important in your office?"
I just smiled.

I took in a deep breath and then let it out slowly as I turned in a full circle and looked at everything Beomgyu had done to the condo. Not only was it brighter and more comfortable, it felt like a true home instead of a showpiece.
I couldn't wait until everyone arrived for tonight's housewarming party. I wanted to show it off. I wanted Beomgyu to get the kudos he deserved for turning this place into somewhere I couldn't wait to get back to at the end of every day.
Beomgyu walked out of the kitchen, his hands going a mile a minute as he gave out last-minute directions to the person in charge of the catering service we had hired for the party.
He had offered to cook, and he was a damn good cook, but I wanted him at my side as we visited with our friends and family. Hiring a catering service had been the least I could do to make this party everything Beomgyu always wanted it to be.
He deserved it.
"You about ready?" I asked. "Our guests should be arriving soon."
Beomgyu shot me wide eyes. "Did I forget anything?"
"I doubt it." He had been working for days on getting everything set up. "The party is going to be perfect. Just as perfect as you."
Beomgyu beamed his big, bright smile at me, which was exactly what I had wanted. His vibrant smiles were a gift, and I knew that. Anyone who didn't was just stupid.
I never claimed to be a genius, but I had been smart enough to grab onto Beomgyu and hold onto him. I was busy tying him to me in every way possible.
His name had been changed to Kang, I'd added his name to the deed on my condo and all my bank accounts, I'd made sure both of his studios were outfitted as much as they could be, and now we were about to throw a party to show off the beautiful home Beomgyu had decorated for us.
I couldn't wait for what the rest of our lives will bring.
"I love you, baby boy." I grabbed him and hauled him into my arms. "You know that, right?"
Beomgyu tilted his head back and presented me with one of his beautiful smiles. "I know. I love you, too, sir."
God, I hoped so. I was pretty sure I'd die if he didn't.
I brushed the hair back from his face. "We're going to have a wonderful life together. You know that, right?"
"I do," he replied. "You promised me."
"I did, and I'll keep my promise. I'll always take care of you."
Beomgyu wrapped his arms around me, hugging me tight. "And I'll always take care of you, sir."
Just the way it should be.
The doorbell rang.
I patted Beomgyu on the ass and gave him a little push toward the hallway. "Go answer the door, baby boy. Let our friends in. It's time to celebrate."
And we had a lot to celebrate.
