Serenity laid her head on his lap as he rolled up. Kentrell had spent the last week at her house, to watch over the place. He had no idea if gates knew where she stayed but im sure if he didn't before, he probably did now. Kentrell talked to Joseph about what happened and they agreed to take turns watching her.
"What does he want with me?" Serenity as, turning her entire body so she could see his face. "Ion know." Kentrell answered honestly.
"I think he tryna hurt me so he used you." He said as Serenity tugged at his goatee lightly, making Kentrell look down at her.
Kentrell sighed deeply, running a hand over his face. The exhaustion was evident in his eyes, but he remained vigilant. He couldn't afford to let his guard down, not with Gates lurking somewhere in the shadows.
Serenity's safety was his priority now. She shifted slightly, resting her cheek against his thigh. "I just don't understand why this is happening. What did I ever do to him?"
