2002 Rainbow Kisses

CHAPTER 16

It's been a week since the bonfire, and I have been hanging out with Adam almost everyday. I am now preparing myself to go to the gym with Adam. He said he will come and pick me up in 30 minutes from now and it's currently 6pm. Thank God it's Friday, I even asked him if he wasn't going to a party or something and he said he wasn't going since he wants to hang out me. Apparently it's not his cup of tea.

I read a book earlier and it inspired me to get a jar for the kisses.  Thank God I bought two glass jars last month which was supposed to be for sugar and coffee but I decided to start putting my colored stars in the jar every time I get a kiss.
I decided to start afresh with the  jar.
So far I only have 3 stars in there and yes one of the stars belong to Adam. The other two belong to my dad and my best friend Ash.

We finally agreed to be best friends during the week since we are always together and it just feels right. I finally have someone I can tell like me for me.
I now have 3 people who I trust.

I head downstairs checking first if my dad is downstairs. I a currently avoiding him and brother. I did talk to to them both when I got home on Sunday about what happened last week Friday at the party.

To say they were pissed is understatement. My father forced me to go to the police station and open a case. My brother agreed and I ended up going to the police station to open a file.
My dad said to just have it there just in case something happens in the future. Ashley came too and gave her statement as a witness.

I could see Ash was happy I did this as she had been telling me to go open a police report. The reason I am avoiding them is they want me to show them who Kevin is because they want to meet with him but I have been refusing to do that because I just want to move on from everything.

Luckily they are not in the living room when I get downstairs. O heard to the kitchen to make a protein shake for both Adam and I.
I decide to make a sandwich too with Tuna with whole wheat bread. I am trying to eat healthy especially when I have gym.

" Good evening Fluffy" I look up and I see my dad walking in to the kitchen.
"Good evening dad," I start rushing what I was doing because I know he will bring up Kevin and I do not want to ruin my night.

" Can we talk?" He asks.
" Maybe later dad, I'm about to head to the gym" I say.
"This is not about Kevin, it's about Nikki"
" Alright shoot!" I know what this is about, Khal already told me about it.
Nikki has invited us to her place on Sunday for lunch.
" is it okay with you if we all go over to Nikki's place on Sunday for lunch. We can leave the moment you feel uncomfortable I promise" this break my heart, I really can't believe dad has not been dating because me. He is literally my best friend and I can't believe I have been making him miserable.
I go around the counter and I give him a big hug.
"dad I am so sorry for everything. Can you forgive me?"
" What for baby"he asks
" Dad you do not need permission from me to be happy okay. I have been a brat to you over the years and to answer you I would be happy to come to lunch on Sunday. I promise I will be on my best behavior. scout's honor"

"Well now that's sorted, why are you making two of each? Are you going to the gym with Ashley?" He enquires.
" Nope, I'm going with someone else." I say shyly.
"Is it a guy maybe?"
I nod my head and my dad smiles.
"Alright well don't do anything I wouldn't do" he says
" dad we are just friends" We then both laugh.
"yeah girls and boys can't just be friends especially at your big age" my dad says.
I shake my head, well I do have a crush on Adam but I doubt he feels the same way.
My phone rings and I see it's Adam, I guess he is outside.
He brought me home last week after the bon fire and he asked me if he can pick me up on Monday for my lessons.
He is truly a gentleman and any girl would be lucky to be in a relationship with him.
"Dad I have to go, my ride is outside" I say. I quickly place the food in the bag.
"See you later" I kiss him on the cheek as I walk to the front door.

We had an amazing gym session, I can proudly say I managed to run a mile today on the trend mill. Adam has been pushing me hard at the gym and I even told him he would make an amazing personal trainer.

We are currently sitting at the park near the gym.
" I brought us some sandwiches by the way" I gave him his shake when I got in his car which he was grateful for but I didn't tell him about the food.

" I guess great minds think alike,I brought drinks and some light snacks too."
He pulls out a lunch box and I see he has chicken nuggets and wraps with two apple drinks.
"Why did you pack so much food" he asks.
" well I figured since you are a growing boy you wouldn't mind the food"

We begin eating our food and after having a sandwich, a few nuggets and a wrap I am full.
I see I made the right deciding by making four sandwiches because Adam devoured the three sandwiches.
" You really do make a good sandwich" he says finishing the last bite.
"you should try my lasagna, I make a mean lasagna"
" Well make sure you save me some the next time you decide to make some. Better yet we should make it together when you are free"
His phone rings and I can tell from his demeanor that he doesn't like the person who called.
He ends the call, but the person seems persistent because they call again.
"Maybe it's important" I say.
" Trust me it's not important, anyway where were we" with that he switches off his phone.
Dammnn I would hate to be the person on the other end of the call.
I am curious as a cat right now but we don't have that kind of relationship.
We then move on to discussing our next gym session since we decided to go together from now on.
I asked him if I slowed him down but he informed me he usually goes to the gym early in the morning and in the evening to destress so I am actually helping him take his mind of things.
I wanted to ask what things but I decide it's not the right time.
He says he works out before he opens the cafe which is next to the gym where he works part time when he doesn't have lecturers.
I should find a part time job since I don't have lectures from Friday to Sunday.
I could use the money actually.
I tell him that and he asks what I like to do most of my time.
I tell him my favorite thing is to read books and he says he has an aunt who owns a library and he would put in a word for me if I'm interested.
I thank him and I give him a hug.
I guess he wasn't expecting it since we almost fell.
" Let's stand up and you can give me a proper hug" my shoes suddenly look more interesting.
I am a shy person honestly.
He pulls me up and tilts my head to look into his eyes.
He lowers his head and kisses me on my forehead and hugs me.
Could he get any cuter.
"now was that so hard"
I am blushing hard I'm sure I am red as a tomato even though I am caramel colored.
" You are cute when you blush, come on let me take you home"
