Lagos, Nigeria
Inaaya Abubakar
She tapped her foot on the ground impatiently as she waited in line for the ATM. She had been standing there for almost thirty minutes and she was starting to get tired.
She reached into her bag and brought out a pair of sunglasses, the sun was killing her. She proceeded to put on the glasses as she let out another small hiss, What is it with Nigeria and this stuff? She could still count up to five people in front of her apart from the person currently using the machine.
Looking at the time she decided it was just better if she left, she had a lot of things to get back to as she had orders to attend to. Finally giving up she turned around to leave ignoring the stares she got from the people behind her.
"Inayah!" A male voice called out from behind her, startled she turned around to look at the man.
"Dr Farouk, Ina yini" She forced out a smile.
Walking towards her, the man had a big smile on his face. You could clearly tell that he was happy to see her .
"Lafiya qalau wallahi. How was have you been? It's been a while"
Inaaya smiled a little "Alhamdulilah" she answered shortly, as she said the first time she had a lot of things to take care of, it was already past four and she had been stuck in this back since two. So you can only imagine how tired she was.
"Masha Allah, are you going somewhere? Please ki bari na rage maki hanya"
She shook her head immediately stepping back a little, "No no, you don't have to. I already called an Uber he's outside waiting for me, I have to go now"-which was a lie- without waiting for him to say anything, she sauntered out of the bank premises.
Immediately she was outside she let out a deep breath. Thinking of ways to get out of this place without running into Dr Farouk she started trekking as she tried to order an Uber.
A loud horn blared in front of her that made her jump and dropped her phone, she quickly looked up as she covered her mouth with shaky hands.
The man quickly came out of the car to apologize as he had lost control of the steering wheel while trying to take stop his one year old daughter from touching the breaks.
"I'm so sorry! Please ma'am." He apologized and bent down to help her pack her stuff that fell down.
She looked around, a little crowd was starting to form.
"No it's fine, you don't have to" she bent down as well.
He was a middle aged man, even if he wasnt old enough to birth her she knew he was way older than her so she felt bad seeing him bent in front of her.
"I'm so sorry once again, I wasn't paying attention" he bowed his head down.
Feeling really bad Inaaya collected her stuff and said a brief goodbye before stumbling off.
Flaws flaws flaws that's all I can think of. Ya Allah! Why do we have to compare ourselves ne? Everyone was built different, saboda wane yayi bai zama dole kaima sai kayi ba, Haba.
Writing this chapter was so difficult on my side, giving I have not been writing lately and all the other things on my mind.
I also do not think of plots before writing my books, yeah! I just go with the flow of the book and my characters but this one is taking a toll on me, I can't think of a good plot and Inaaya is so hard to write as well 😭 She is a person who has a lot of personalities, none are like mine so you guys can understand.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the chapter. Please vote, comment and share thank you.
