the morning of the big race, vivienne drove the car they rented to the airport and waited outside the terminal nicole was to land at any minute now. for 6 am, vivienne was wide awake, oh so excited to meet nicole in person. she couldn't contain her excitement as she saw the plane land, bouncing on her feet as she waited for the terminal to open and the australian woman to walk right out of the door.

her excitement was finally let out when passengers started emptying into the airport, nicole's friendly face being spotted through the crowd, "nicole!!"

the woman spotted where the voice came from, making her way towards vivienne with just her carry on, "vivienne! thank you for doing this for me so last minute!" nicole gave the girl a hug before pulling back from it, her arms still around the girl, "has anyone ever told you you're even prettier in person?"

vivienne's smile grew bigger, "oh stop, mrs piastri, please!"

they laughed as they started towards the baggage claim, becoming acquainted through random questions and conversations on the drive to the hotel, where vivienne had also managed to book a room only a few down from her and willow's.

when they finally got to nicole's hotel room, vivienne took the liberty to explain what the schedule would be for the next morning, "so, everyone was planning on leaving around 11am just so we can all get there without stressing or anything. the race starts at 2pm and we have paddock passes so we can definitely squeeze in some time for you to see oscar before the race!"

nicole smiled, glad that she wouldn't have to do all that much planning so she could just focus on seeing her son and watching him race, and meeting the girl the internet had been going crazy about as of late.

the next morning, all of the girls woke up bright and early — considering how late they managed to stay up the night before, 9:30 was pretty early. they took their time getting ready for the day, preparing to prevent the heat of the day and the track to get the best of them.

willow was one of the first people to be ready, gina ready to go only a few minutes after her. they sat down on a few of the chairs in the room on their phones, until they heard a knock at the door. vivienne popped out from the bathroom, a curling iron wrapped in a chunk of her hair, "that's probably nicole!"

gina stood up and opened the door, willow right behind her. low and behold, nicole was outside the door ready to start the day.

"hello, nice to meet you nicole! i'm gina, willow's manager!" she held out her hands to give the woman a hug. when they pulled apart, willow introduced herself, "hi, i'm willow!" they hugged, and nicole spoke when they pulled apart, "so you're the girl hattie has been having to explain to me. i understand why she said my son should date you!"

willow's face went pale, and the entire hotel room erupted in laughs. she couldn't tell if nicole was joking or not, joining in on the laughs to hide her embarrassment.
