📍 tokyo, japanTHERE was only one thing Willow felt entering the McLaren paddock, and that was happiness. Compared to her thoughts less than 5 minutes ago, it was a complete 180.
She loved seeing the mechanics work on the cars. She loved seeing race engineers talking before a race. She loved the entire environment inside the paddock and could not wait for the race to start. Another thing she loved, was seeing the drivers themselves get ready for races.
The first person to greet the group as they walked through the door was none other than Lando Norris himself. 10am may seem a bit of an early arrival for him, but he had special guests this week who he could not disappoint.
"Hey guys, how are you all doing? Mrs. Piastri, nice to see you!" Lando greeted, giving Nicole a small hug before yelling up the stairs he had come down from, "Oscar! your mum's here!"
Not long after they heard footsteps coming down the stairs and Oscar joined the group, happily greeting his mom with a big hug. Before she fully pulled out of the hug, she told Oscar, "Don't mess this up."
He was a bit confused by what she said, shaking his head trying to ignore it. He had an important race today and couldn't be thinking of anything else besides racing. He turned to the rest of the group, giving everyone a wide smile, "Hello! Happy to have you all here!"
Vivienne nudged Willow's arm discreetly, gaining her attention. "Do you find it hot in here?" She whispered, the small smile she held giving away the true meaning behind her words. Willow tried toning down the apparent redden that had rised to her cheeks, thankful for her friend to let her know despite the slight embarrassment it caused on her end.
If not for Zac appearing out of nowhere, Willow believed it would be a very awkward conversation between the group, at least on her end.
"Hey, how are we all doing? Glad to see everyone could make it!" He gave everyone a quick hug and individual greetings before motioning everyone to follow him. He led them to the upstairs lounge room where they could get food, talk, and rest during the race day. Everyone settled in, Vivienne taking a seat next to Willow by the windows above pit lane.
The singer was observing every little detail she could, an attempt to get her mind off of anything to do with a certain McLaren driver. But when everything around her was the same shade of orange he wore so well, it was an extremely difficult task.
Vivienne put a comforting arm around her shoulder, "It's gonna be a long day, isn't it?"
Willow nodded, and Nicole and Bethany looked to the two in amusement.
