The grand ballroom was filled with the glittering elite, the air buzzing with laughter and the clinking of champagne glasses. Jisoo moved through the crowd with practiced ease, her eyes always on the target. She wore a sleek black dress, a small gold pin on her lapel glinting under the chandeliers. Through her earpiece, she could hear Lisa and Seulgi.

"Jisoo, you in position?" Seulgi's voice crackled in her ear.

"Yes," Jisoo replied softly, her eyes locking on their target, a well-dressed man chatting near the exit.

"Lisa, how’s it going?" Seulgi asked, she sat back in her chair looking at their body cams.

Lisa's voice came through, slightly breathless. "Just finished up with the last bodyguard. They won't be a problem."

"Good. I'll hack the cameras now, giving you both a clear exit," Seulgi said.

Lisa's laughter filled Jisoo's ear. "Seulgi, you're a lifesaver. Remind me to buy you a drink later."

"Just focus, Lisa," Jisoo chided gently, her eyes narrowing as their target moved towards the garden doors.

"Jisoo, he's heading your way," Seulgi warned.

"Got it," Jisoo replied, subtly making her way through the crowd to follow him.

Their target stepped outside into the garden, the night air cool against Jisoo’s skin. She kept her distance, her hand slipping into her purse where her silenced pistol waited. As he stopped by the pond, Jisoo took her chance.

She pulled out her gun, aimed, and fired. The man crumpled silently to the ground. As she started to move towards him, she caught sight of a shadow on the rooftop reflected in the pond.

Jisoo spun around, her gun aimed at the roof. She fired two shots, barely missing the figure who quickly retreated. "We've got company. We need to move now!" she hissed into her earpiece.

"Copy that," Lisa responded. "I'm on my way."

Inside, Jennie pulled Chaeyoung back from their position on the roof, her grip firm. "We need to get out of here," Jennie urged, leading her partner down the emergency stairwell and back into the ballroom.

Chaeyoung, adrenaline pumping, tried to keep up. As they blended back into the crowd, Jennie guided her towards the center of the room. "We can’t stay here. Too risky."

Chaeyoung nodded, but something caught her eye across the ballroom floor. She froze, her breath catching in her throat. Jisoo was moving through the crowd, the gold pin on her suit unmistakable.

"No way," Chaeyoung whispered, her eyes widening in shock.

Jennie stopped, looking at Chaeyoung in confusion. "What is it? We need to keep moving."

"It's Jisoo," Chaeyoung said, her voice barely above a whisper. "It was Jisoo."

Jennie’s eyes widened as she processed the information. "Your wife? Are you sure?"

Chaeyoung nodded, her mind racing. "That pin...there's no mistaking it."

"Shit," Jennie muttered. "We need to get out of here before she sees us. We can't blow our cover."

Chaeyoung tore her eyes away from Jisoo and followed Jennie, her heart pounding. The realization that her wife was not just a photographer but someone deeply involved in the same dangerous world she was, struck her to the core. She felt a mix of fear, confusion, and something else she couldn't quite place.

As they made their way out of the ballroom, Chaeyoung couldn't help but glance back one more time. Jisoo was gone, but the image of her nearly shooting at her was burned into Chaeyoung’s mind. This revelation threatened to unravel everything, and Chaeyoung knew that their lives would never be the same again.

Jisoo returned home, the house pitch black as she stepped inside. She moved cautiously through the darkness, her senses on high alert. As she walked through the living room, the lights suddenly flicked on, revealing Chaeyoung standing there in her dress from the ball.

Jisoo’s face lit up with a smile. "Love, you’re still up? You look stunning."

Chaeyoung returned the smile, though there was a hint of tension in her eyes. "Thanks, Chu. Just got back. Jennie and I went out for a bit."

Jisoo walked over and kissed her cheek. "You didn’t have to wait up for me. How was your night?"

"It was good," Chaeyoung replied, watching Jisoo closely. "How was yours?"

"Busy," Jisoo said with a sigh, setting down her purse. "But I'm glad to be home now."

Chaeyoung nodded, her mind still racing with the new revelation. "I’m glad you’re home too, Chu."

Jisoo squeezed her hand gently. "Let’s get some rest. We’ll talk more in the morning."

Chaeyoung watched as Jisoo made her way upstairs, her heart heavy with the weight of her thoughts. As much as she wanted to confront Jisoo, she knew she had to bide her time and gather more information. For now, she would play along, but she couldn't shake the feeling that their lives were on the brink of a dramatic change.

"Yeah...the morning."
