After learning that they were each other’s targets, Jisoo and Chaeyoung stood in the center of their trashed living room, tension thick in the air. The realization of their shared secret was almost overwhelming. Before they could process their next move, the sound of gunshots shattered the silence, and they instinctively ducked for cover.
"Get down!" Jisoo yelled, pulling Chaeyoung behind the overturned coffee table.
"We need weapons," Chaeyoung hissed, her eyes scanning the room.
Without hesitation, Chaeyoung lifted the cushions of the couch and revealed a hidden gun. Jisoo’s eyes widened in surprise. "You had a gun hidden in the couch?"
"You didn't feel it?" Chaeyoung asking, loading bullets in.
"I mean, I felt something poking me but I wasn't sure!" Jisoo complained.
"Oh please, we both know I'm not into that." Chaeyoung raised an eyebrow at her wife.
"Could be something we try next." Jisoo adds.
"I'm not denying it." Chaeyoung shrugged. "And you?"
Jisoo smirked, lifting the rug and opening a secret compartment to retrieve her own weapon. "Under the floorboards."
They stared at each other, momentarily forgetting the danger as they marveled at how they had both managed to hide their true selves.
"How did we not notice?" Jisoo asked, bewildered.
Before Chaeyoung could respond, a grenade was tossed into the room, its deadly ticking filling the space. Chaeyoung grabbed Jisoo’s hand.
"No time! Move!"
They dashed out of the living room just as the grenade exploded, the force of the blast throwing debris everywhere. With guns drawn, they moved through the house, taking out attackers as they went. In the hallway, Chaeyoung shot two men who blocked their path. In the kitchen, Jisoo dispatched another with a well-placed bullet between the eyes.
Reaching the garage, they were confronted by a burly man who momentarily paused to leer at Chaeyoung.
"Man look at that beauty!"
Jisoo’s blood boiled. "Eyes off my wife!" she shouted, firing a shot that sent the man sprawling.
Slamming the garage door shut behind them, Jisoo turned to Chaeyoung. "Get the car started! We need to get out of here!"
Chaeyoung jumped into the driver’s seat and started the engine. Jisoo hopped into the back, her gun at the ready. As Chaeyoung sped out of the garage, Jisoo opened the rear window and began shooting at their pursuers. The attackers fired back, bullets pinging off the bulletproof exterior of their car.
"Drive faster!" Jisoo yelled as she took down another attacker.
Chaeyoung swerved to dodge the bullets, causing Jisoo to lose her balance momentarily.
"Watch it!" Jisoo shouted, regaining her footing.
"I’m trying to keep us alive!" Chaeyoung shot back.
"More like killing me!" Jisoo yelled.
"You forget who's driving right!?"
"Oh please, we bot-"
In a bold move, Chaeyoung slammed on the brakes, causing Jisoo to slam into the back window. The sudden stop threw their attackers off balance, and Chaeyoung took the opportunity to fire back at them out of her window, her shots finding their marks. She then slammed her foot on the gas, speeding down the street.
Jisoo composed herself, pulling herself up with a grimace. One of the attackers, looking bewildered, turned to his companion.
"Is she just in a bra and boxers?"
The other nodded, equally stunned. Before they could react further, Jisoo pulled the pin on a grenade and hurled it at the remaining cars. The explosion rocked the street, blocking their pursuers and sending debris flying.
"And that's a strrrrrike!" Jisoo cheers happily.
As they sped away, Chaeyoung kept her focus on the road, her heart pounding. Jisoo slid the window separating the cab from the truck bed.
"That was... intense," Jisoo said, catching her breath.Chaeyoung smirked, her adrenaline still high. "I didn’t know you could throw a grenade like that."
Jisoo grinned, sliding through the window to sit beside her wife. "And I didn’t know you could shoot like that. Hot."
Chaeyoung blushed but maintained her composure. "You think so?"
Jisoo’s eyes sparkled with mischief. "Oh, definitely. I wonder how bossy you could get for me."
Chaeyoung giggled, the tension from the fight melting away. "Maybe you’ll find out soon."
"Ooh, Chaeyoung finally taking charge?" Jisoo sweetly asked, her eyes now fully filled with mischief.
"Believe me, you won't be prepared."
"Oh, I'll wait." Jisoo chuckled.
Their fingers intertwined as they drove into the night, their connection stronger than ever despite—or perhaps because of—the chaos. Both of them were still in their disheveled state: Chaeyoung in her lingerie, and Jisoo in her bra and boxers. But in that moment, nothing else mattered.
Jisoo leaned in closer, her voice soft yet filled with intensity. "You know, seeing you handle those guys back there...it was incredible. I always knew you were strong, but now I see how strong."
Chaeyoung glanced over at her wife, her heart swelling with love and pride. "And I’ve always admired your bravery. Even when you’re standing half-naked, shooting at bad guys."
Jisoo laughed, a sound that was both joyous and relieved. "Well, next time, let’s try to do it with a bit more clothing."
Chaeyoung nodded, a mischievous twinkle in her eye. "Agreed. But for now, I kind of like this look on you."
Jisoo smirked, leaning in for a quick kiss. "Maybe we could do a little pitstop? I always wanted to-"
"Maybe we should save that for later, we need to figure out where to lay low now." Chaeyoung interrupted.
"Are you really rejecting your wife? Look at me! I'm practically a goddess!" Jisoo brags.
"I'm nearly naked."
"And I happily see that~"
As Chaeyoung drove, Jisoo kept a watchful eye on the rearview mirror, ensuring they weren’t being followed. The road ahead was uncertain, filled with danger and betrayal. But as long as they were together, they knew they could face anything.
Their hands remained intertwined, a silent promise to each other. No matter what happened, they would face it together.
