"ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?"

Chaeyoung and Jisoo sat on Lisa’s couch, the aftermath of their recent escape still weighing heavily on their minds. Chaeyoung was wrapped in a plush robe, her hair damp from a quick shower, while Jisoo had thrown on a shirt over her boxers. They both looked at Lisa and Jennie, who stood in front of them with serious expressions.

“You two are now the most wanted assassins in Korea,” Lisa announced, her tone matter-of-fact.

Jisoo couldn’t help but smirk. “Well, that’s kind of impressive, don’t you think?”

Chaeyoung rolled her eyes and playfully slapped Jisoo’s arm. “This is serious, Chu.”

“Why are you guys here at Lisa’s apartment anyway?” Jisoo asked, glancing between Lisa and Jennie. “Don’t you have your own places?”

Lisa’s eyes darted around the room, and she quickly changed the subject. “We need to focus on what’s important right now.”

Chaeyoung wasn’t about to let it slide. “Are you two sleeping together?”

Jennie’s face remained impassive. “That’s not the point. We need to figure out who’s after you two and why. You must have done something to piss them off.”

Jisoo scratched the back of her ear, a clear sign that she was hiding something. Chaeyoung’s eyes narrowed, recognizing the habit immediately.

“Chu, what did you do?”

"N-nothing?"

"Jisoo Kim, do you dare lie to your wife?" Chaeyoung challenged, "especially now?"

Jisoo sighed, knowing she couldn’t keep it from her. “I may have insulted my boss and called him some names during an argument we had when I tried to leave the company.”

Jennie groaned, her frustration evident. “Of course it’s your fault.”

But Chaeyoung spoke up, her voice calm and measured. “It’s not just Jisoo. I had a pretty unpleasant conversation with my boss too.”

Lisa threw her hands up in exasperation. “You two are really meant for each other. Only you could manage to ruin each other’s lives like this.”

She pulled out her phone and called Seulgi, who answered on the second ring. “Seulgi, it’s Lisa. I need your help to get Jisoo out of this mess.”

Seulgi’s voice crackled through the speaker. “I owe Jisoo one, so I’ll help. What do you need?”

“We’ll talk details later. Just be ready,” Lisa replied before hanging up.

Jennie turned to Chaeyoung. “I’ll visit Irene in the morning and see what she can do. She might have some information that could help.”

With that, Jennie and Lisa headed towards the bedroom, exhausted from the day’s events. As they left, Jisoo gave Chaeyoung a knowing look.

“No funny business on my couch!” Lisa shouted over her shoulder.

Jisoo rolled her eyes and reached down to play with one of Lisa’s cats, who had wandered into the room. “You know, we really need to find a way out of this.”

Chaeyoung sighed, watching her wife’s playful interaction with the cat. “You’re right. We can’t keep living like this.”

Chaeyoung looked up, her eyes serious. “What if we leave our assassin lives behind?”

Jisoo blinked, taken aback by the suggestion. The thought of leaving everything they knew, the danger and the thrill, was both terrifying and oddly relieving. But leaving? Leaving everything she's spent years being, her life spent on this...

Change wasn't going to be an easy thing.
