JEWEL HAPPILY sighed as she breathed in the wonderful view in front of her. A smile painted on her lips as the echoes of Nix's laughter lingered in the early afternoon breeze as he played with his pony, in front of the shimmering lake.
It has been a week since she got discharged from the hospital. A week, after she found out that she woke up already married to her childhood bestfriend whom she remembered, hated her the last time they met.
*Flashback*
WHILE BEING wrapped in the child's little arms, Jewel felt a satisfying and unexplainable emotion. An unmatchable feeling of joy was circulating all over her. She couldn't understand it.
She felt something for the kid that the moment she opened her eyes and saw him, her hand automatically reached for him. Like she wanted to touch him so bad.
Suddenly, a continuous stream of tears poured from both of her eyes like endless falls. It was overwhelming.
Still unable to identify what to do next, her body unconsciously did it for her. Her arms slowly wrapped around the little boy's body...tightly, and buried her face on his neck.
'What is this feeling?'
The baby, who she remembered, whose name is Nix, let her go to stare at her face while cradling it in both of her arms. Another familiar feeling. She closed her eyes for a moment to feel those tiny hands. Then she opened them again and saw the same blue eyes staring back at her.
"Is he really...mine?" She asked, uncertain, in a whisper. 'Did this beautiful creature really come from me?'
"She's ours, Jewel...ours." Phoenix said with a hint of pride.
Her eyes met his and her heart started pounding again that she averted her eyes after a second.
"I still can't believe that...he's mine...I mean, I never imagined having one...because..."
"He is yours Jewel...don't you see the resemblance?"
She looked at baby Nix again...those ocean blue eyes are the exact replica of hers. She chuckled as she wiped her own tears away... "Yeah, I can see that. But how?..."
Her mother chuckled and Phoenix snickered. "You're really asking that?" He asked.
"No, I'm being serious...I've always believed that I can't have children because..." Then a thought suddenly came into her mind. She gasped. "Wait...mom, did you tell him?"
Her mom slowly shook her head. "No...you did honey..."
She frowned...'I don't understand...'
JEWEL COULDN'T wrap her head around all the things that they just explained to her.
"Right then...seems like our patient here is overwhelmed by the situation so please don't tell her too much information just yet...let her know about them gradually...remember, she's still on the recovery process." Her family doctor, Doctor Cyan Roluf said.
"Jewel, you said that the last memory you have was when you were packing for something right?"
"Yes..." She answered.
"And you have no recollection about anything that happened afterwards?" He asked again.
"Yes..."
"Alright...that settles it then...you definitely have retrograde amnesia...But it's not a surprise anymore, we have already anticipated this before you decided to take the operation." He added.
Jewel sighed upon knowing that she really took that operation that she had already decided to refuse. She glanced at Phoenix...They told her that Phoenix begged her to do it...
