SOMETHING SOFT and sweet molding against her lips woke her up from her sleep. Slowly, she opened her eyes and saw her husband's piercing eyes directly looking at her with hunger.
She moaned and kissed Phoenix back, savoring the sensations in which their lips were making together. He released her lips, but her own ones were begging for more.
"Good morning wife." He greeted her.
"Good morning too, husband." She replied. Her heart started beating crazily.
Over the past months they were together, the awkwardness they had between them since she had woken up from the coma had officially faded, especially after Phoenix's confession.
She felt that she and Phoenix became closer. They had gotten so much closer that skin-ships were beginning to be a norm between them.
Jewel glanced at the alarm clock on the bedside table. It was still five in the morning. Then she turned back to Phoenix.
"Why did you wake me up so early?" She asked. She sat up on the bed, half asleep and stretched.
Phoenix, who was beaming enthusiastically, answered, "Happy anniversary Jewel."
She was taken by surprise. Then she remembered what date today was.
She flipped the blanket off her and ran to the calendar on the shelf where Phoenix kept his books.
She gasped when she saw the actual date with a red circle marked on the number on it.
Phoenix hugged her from behind and greeted her again. "Happy anniversary, Treasure."
She turned inside his embrace and wrapped her hand around his neck. "Happy anniversary too, Phoenix." She said, properly greeting him this time.
Phoenix smiled sweetly and leaned down to peck her lips. "Now go and take a bath. We're going somewhere. Wear something comfortable." He said and kissed her lips again which made her 'hmph!' in surprise. She laughed and made her way to the bathroom.
Before she could enter the room, she stopped and turned to him.
"Are we taking Nix with us?" She asked, instantly missing their son who was abducted by their parents last night to sleep with them in their room.
Phoenix shook his head. "Not this time. The grandpas' took him on a fishing trip by the lake."
"I see." She said. "I hope they won't forget to put sunscreen on him."
"Don't worry. I've already told them everything they needed to bring. Don't worry about Nix. I'm sure he's having a great time with his grandparents."
She nodded and smiled then went inside the bathroom.
She wondered where Phoenix would take her.
PHOENIX'S CAR stopped in front of a familiar building. He offered her his hand as soon as he got out from the driver's seat and held her hand as they went inside the condominium building.
As she scanned her eyes around the premises, everything felt familiar to her. But she wasn't surprise by it.
For the past few weeks, Jewel was starting to remember small pieces of her memories, bit by bit. Most of the scenes from her memory, however, were blurry and unclear which is why she's having a hard time stitching the pieces of those portions together.
She couldn't identify when or where those memories exactly happened. The only memory that is yet clear was the one she had from the amusement park.
But now, she could feel familiarization with some things around her. And she thought that it was a good sign that her memories are slowly returning to her.
