AFTER HEARING the news about the closed stalls, they decided to just look around the amusement park. The news about a Japanese festival themed amusement park later tonight made Jewel excited. The thought of it seemed fun as far as she knew from watching Japanese shows back in her high school and college days.
To pass the time, they chose to visit the rides behind the stalls instead, until the evening comes for the festival.
Seeing the huge rides in person brought her back to the times when she was just daydreaming on seeing these things. The rotating giant Ferris wheel almost gave her a stiff neck of how tall it was and the very long ride of the twisty roller coaster with people screaming were all mesmerizing. There are other cool rides too. This place is really amazing.
"Does this place bring any memory to you?" Phoenix suddenly asked.
She wandered her eyes around it. "Sorry...I can't still remember anything. It feels like it's my first time here." Then she spotted something familiar to her. The carousel ride from the video!
"Phoenix look! Was that the carousel that you rode when I took that video?"
"Yep...definitely is. I remember you enjoying riding that thing and also enjoyed recording me with some children laughing over at my state."
She chuckled when she imagined that. "I sounded mean there. I can't believe I did that."
"Yep...But actually, I was the one mean during that time."
"Really? I can't imagine that." She can't think of Phoenix being mean to her or anything. He was very sweet and caring to her everyday that that kind of Phoenix never crossed her mind.
"I've got a lot of memories with you in this place. I've always thanked Grandpa for buying it." He turned to her and smiled. "Want to go for a ride?"
"Can I?"
"Sure...you already rode this before. Just stay away from the extreme ones." He said with a hint of seriousness in his tone. There was also a small worry in there.
She already knows that she's not going to ride the extreme rides. It would be risky for her. But it feels like Phoenix is more worried for her than her to herself with the way he said that.
Phoenix carried Nix in his arms with a small grunt. Phoenix poked Nix's arm lightly to get his attention. "Hey Nix, do you wanna ride the horsey?" He asked in a simple sign language that Nix would understand.
Nix nodded eagerly while giving them his cute toothy grin.
Phoenix smiled and offered his right hand to her which caught her off guard a little. She grabbed it with her left hand like somewhat in weird manly way that made Phoenix laugh. He arranged it and interlaced their fingers together, making her look at him as something inside of her stirred because of the contact.
He led her to the gate of the ride. He settled Nix on the ground. Phoenix went in front of the machine with a small screen and scanned the yellow strip on his wrist. The machine beeped with a green light flashed in a small slit, then a smiling with a thumb's up emoticon popped on the screen.
Phoenix then told Nix to do the same. Their son complied and leaned his small wrist on the machine. Then Phoenix called her so she could register her yellow strip on the machine as well.
After the smiley emoticon popped into the machine, a staff of the ride came to them and asked them what horse they would like ride on. Nix pointed on a black horse with white patches that looked almost similar to Peony...wait...that looks like a replica of Peony, and almost the same size too. And there was a larger horse beside the Peony look-alike that look like...Dash?!...wait...what....?
