IT WAS bright and sunny. Cheery laughter of children running across the park was vivid to the ears of those who can listen. Some were swinging the swing, climbing the monkey bars and climbers. Others were playing in the seesaw and the giant sandbox.

While Nix decided to try slide for the very first time.

He was atop the platform and just needed to slide down. But her baby seems to be a little scared.

"Come on Nix! You can do it!" She cheered on him while signing. A year had already passed and she could say that she's already fluent at sign language after communicating with Nix using sign language everyday.

Nix was clutching his small hands on the side of the slide. He was a little shaky. He must've felt a little pressure by the children behind him who was waiting for their turn.

"Go on baby...you can do it." She signed to him. "Take your time...don't be scared, mommy will catch you."

Nix nodded and took a really deep breathe and let it out. He finally sat on the edge of the slide and he slowly lets go of the edges and slide down to her.

She immediately caught him in her hands and Nix was beaming to her when he was standing on his feet again.

"Great job Nix! Mission slide complete!" She saluted with a pout and Nix followed.

"Move aside pwease." A girl who was behind Nix earlier said and they gladly obliged.

She held her son's hand only for him to let go and ran to the sandbox to play with his toy horse. She found her way back to their picnic blanket where Phoenix was sitting as he followed their son with his eyes.

He turned to her and he smiled with those lovely lips of his, making her melt on her toes. He pulled her to him and made her sit between his legs. Then he handed her a triangular sandwich. She took it and ate the corner.

He leaned to her husband's broad chest and settled on watching their son play and mingle with the other children who didn't mind his disabilities.

"I'm glad that he's able to enjoy his childhood and play with the children his age." Phoenix said as he wrapped his arms around her.

"He's a smart kid and he's mature enough to understand his condition and not let it affect him in any way at all. You raised him really well."

"Hmm...thanks for the compliment. I got lots of help from the grown-ups."

She sighed contentedly and ruffled her husband's hair from behind. She loves the feeling of being cuddled like this.

It's been a year since they got married again. Phoenix earned a scolding from his mom the night he told them that they're engaged again. Mommy Margarette was mad because she said she would have made a big engagement party if Phoenix only told her that he was gonna propose.

But she defended Phoenix by saying that the proposal was out on a whim and Phoenix said it was never planned in the first place.

Mommy Margarette calmed down but her anger resurrected when she said that she wanted to marry Phoenix in the same city hall they first got married. Mommy Margarette was fuming mad and the mayor that time was sweating bullets at her mother-in-law's hard glares. She felt bad for the mayor.

They eventually made her wishes come true when they got married...again...in a church this time. And they let mommy Margarette plan...everything.

The wedding was grand, despite all of their protests...but it was once in a lifetime event and their mothers where dreaming of the event since the day they were born.
