CHAPTER 53 - UNLEASHED

JEWEL AND PHEONIX followed Mrs. Rickins, while walking hand-in-hand. As they stroll, Jewel can't stop her eyes from observing the beautiful and breathtaking scenery around her. Almost every nook and cranny is filled with the vibrant colors of petals. It seems like the plants are really taken good care of.

Back in her home in New Jersey, taking care of the plants is one of her favorite hobbies. It's the time where she gets to spend time with her mom and bond together.

She glanced at Phoenix. Did he already know about her hobby? 'Hmm...probably. I may have told him about it at some point before.'

The three of them arrived in front of a huge greenhouse. Lesser flowers this time and more greeneries and full grown trees were inside. As far as she can see from its see through walls.

"I'm glad that you brought Mrs. Wade this time, Sir Wade. It's nice to seeing you two together again. I can't wait to meet the little one. I hope you bring him here next time."

"Don't worry Mrs. Rickins, I'll bring him when he's old enough."

Mrs. Rickins took something from her pocket and opened the lock on the greenhouse. And she thought that the greenhouse was already amazing outside, she was in awe on how it was more amazing inside. It was like a real rainforest with full grown trees and giant plants sticking out in some of the giant pots.

"Whoa..." She couldn't hold her amazement as she scanned her eyes inside the place. The afternoon light created a translucent effect on the transparent ceiling of the greenhouse.

"They've grown a lot more since the last time I was here." Phoenix said while looking at the trees. "Well, at least some of them did."

"Because they were well taken care of. You already know where to find the gardening tools right?" Mrs. Rickins asked.

"Yeah. Thanks Mrs. Rickins. I'll take it from here."

"I'll be in the cottage if you need me. Don't hesitate to ask for anything."

"We will Mrs. Rickins." Phoenix said.

Mrs. Rickins smiled to them warmly and nodded before she took her leave.

"You two seem pretty close." Jewel commented.

Phoenix turned to her and smirked a little. "I did owe her big time."

She tilted her head in curiosity and Phoenix just chuckled.

Phoenix then went to the corner of the greenhouse and opened a shed to take some gardening tools she had always been familiar with. She followed him and when he turned around, she was offered a trowel and a pair of gloves.

She gladly took them while grinning at him. She felt excited all of a sudden. It's been so long since she did proper gardening. She was not allowed to at least trim the plants at the villa when she recovered because the adults were so protective of her.

But now, it seems like she can garden to her heart's content.

Then Phoenix took a hat with a wide rim, just like what Mrs. Rickins wore earlier, then he wore it on her head. He pat it a little to make sure that it won't fall off. His hand stilled on the top of her head, and to her surprise, he leaned down to peck her on her lips.

"So cute..." He whispered and smirked. Then he took his own hat and wore it to himself. "Come on. Let's do some gardening." He said before he left her standing, feeling her erratic heartbeat once again for the nth time this day.

She took a deep breath to try and ease her heart, but it was a total failure. She sighed to herself and whispered, "Damn you Phoenix..." before she followed Phoenix with a small elated smile on her face.
