It had been a year since her daughter had gone away. The Magic Emperor, Julius, was worried sick. He had learned from her lodgings that Areum hadn't been there, the landlady said she had already left long ago.
She wouldn't even respond to his letters.
Julius sighed.
'Maybe she just found her real family and forgot about me?'He couldn't help but think that way. The thought saddened him deeply.
"Julius-sama," Marx called him. He looked up and saw his assistant's face.
"What's with that face? Are you thinking that Areum abandoned you again?" Marx said, looking at the Magic Emperor's sad expression.
He frequently saw Julius-sama looking at Areum's magic tools or even sleeping in her room, just because he missed her so much.
Who would have thought that the almighty protector of the kingdom would act like this?
And that brat! Why would she suddenly disappear like that?!
"Areum would never think that way, Julius-sama." Julius listened intently to what Marx had to say.
"She loves you and you should never doubt her love for you. That child would definitely get angry," Marx reassured Julius. With that, a smile stretched across Julius's face once again.
Marx hoped that was also the case. Aside from the assumption of Areum had already found her parents, many dangers resided in her adventure.
"Yes, you are right," Julius answered, hoping that Areum would come back soon.
Marx smiled inwardly as he returned to his duties.
"The magic knights you sent to the dungeon have returned. They are here to report," he said.Sometimes, Marx thinks that Julius-sama is a bipolar. Because he was suddenly excited.
Marx only sighed. That's Julius-sama for you.
With the absence of his daughter, the new recruits from the Golden Dawn and Black Bulls had taken his interest.
Especially the new kid that Yami had.
Like his daughter, the kid, Asta, didn't have an ounce of mana. If only his daughter was here, she would definitely befriend the teen despite knowing he belonged to Yami's squad.
Julius had been observing the two peasants from Hage Village.
They had their own conceptual strengths.
Anti-magic and wind magic.
Julius couldn't help but remember his daughter once again. He clearly remembered how she took a liking to wind mages. She even said she would marry one.
'Goodness, he misses her so much.'——— ☄️☘️ ———
Outside of the Magic
Emperor's Castle
"I will become the Magic Emperor!"
"No, I will."
"It's gonna be me, you handsome jerk!"
"No, it's me, muscle freak."
Two members of the Golden Dawn and one from the Black Bulls watched the two rivals argue.l
"When would they stop?" said the silver-haired royal girl. The royal girl flipped her hair, suddenly thinking about a certain person.
She couldn't help but blush.
'Gosh! W-why am I thinking about him?!?'
The brunette royal chuckled while watching the two rivals argue.
"I find them cute," she giggled.
"Cute is not the word for that, Mimosa," the four-eyed man said.He couldn't help but still feel sheer relief. Regardless of being a newbie, the two of them did a great job in the dungeon.
"Cut it out, you two!" He sighed when the two of them didn't listen to him. Where was his seniority here then?
"Now what a lively atmosphere," the six of them looked at the person who spoke.
The ash-haired boy tilted his head.
"Hey, Yuno. Do you know this flashy guy right here?" Yuno only looked at the person in front of them, sensing an immense amount of magic.
Could this be...
"Insolence! That's the Magic Emperor!" The four-eyed man said, catching the attention of the two.He forced the ash-haired boy to kneel. While the black-haired guy knelt on his own.
'So this is the Magic Emperor huh.'
————☄️☘️————
"I kinda miss it here," someone said, looking around the palace.
That someone's smile widened when she saw a familiar person.
"Hello! Marx ni-san!" Marx, who was just doing his job, watched Areum in shocked as she waved and smiled widely at him.
Yes. That someone was none other than Areum Nova Chrono. The girl who went MIA for eight months.
"Areum?! Where were you!" He exclaimed and then hugged the girl who had changed drastically in the span of eight months.
"I was in pursuit of looking for my wind mage husband, Marx ni-san," Areum joked.Marx laughed at her naughtiness.
She's still the old Areum, huh? He's glad.
"Let me remind you, young lady, that you are only fifteen years old," Marx shook his head.
"Fifteen and a half, FYI," Areum answered as a matter of fact.
"Still fifteen," Marx tried to argue.
"No, no, no ni-san, there's a huge difference between being fifteen and being fifteen and a half. First—" Marx shushed her by raising his hands.
How could he forget that this girl hates losing arguments?
"Yes, yes, you are fifteen and a half. I understood completely."
"Hmph."
Areum looked around, trying to spot her papa.
"Where's papa by the way? Did he ditch his works again?" Areum asked. Knowing her papa, he would definitely, certainly do that.
Marx shook his head. "He's talking to the magic knights who just returned from the dungeon." Areum nodded, not really interested in that information.
Marx noticed the lack of interest Areum was feeling.
"I assumed there must be an important artifact that was found. That's why he has to be there." All sorts of body fatigue that Areum felt at that moment suddenly disappeared when she heard the word 'artifacts.'
Marx smiled.
"Artifacts you say..."
He chuckled.Areum is Areum after all. Nothing could par her interest about artifacts.
"Bring me there, Marx ni-san! I need to see it!" Areum said, burning with so much compassion. She grabbed her magic glasses, cloak, and gloves, readying herself for the magic 'treasure.'
Marx, seeing it, was surprised. She has been experimenting?
"Alright. Wait up, nerd."
"I am not a nerd, shut up, ni-san."
"Mhm."
"What's that supposed to mean?"———☄️☘️———
