Pressure has always been on Jungkook's shoulders since childhood when he was robbed of his childhood and had to mature early. The death of his mother when he was only 7 years of age was the start of his realization that crying was a privilege he could not afford. After that time, he was trained to become the future alpha of the Jeon pack, which meant that the young man had to be dominant, authoritative, and respected by everyone.
Jungkook's childhood as a son of the imposing Jeon Junseo made him into a powerhouse of a man. He quickly discovered the bitter truth of life in the pack and the world outside of the pack's social order. There was only one person who could make Jungkook smile whenever he felt the pressure of leadership: his cousin Kim Taehyung, with his calm disposition and the fragrance of lilies.
The world beyond the pack walls was a hostile one where enemies were lying in wait for the Jeon to drop their guard so they could strike. However, no matter how strong the Jeon pack was, there were always some other groups eyeing the position of the leader, some of the allies betraying the pack and internal conflicts that challenged Jungkook and his empire.
However, with all these and the pressure that came with the task, Jungkook did not wane. He was fully devoted to the defence and improvement of his pack's situation, and that was the result of the upbringing of his father and other ancestors. Each of his actions, each of his partnerships, was an attempt to protect the Jeon pack's place in the complex web of werewolf politics.
While being a leader and a loyalist Jungkook understood that the future would remain a mystery. And in this precarious position of power and weakness, of responsibility and passion, he was always being challenged, trying to protect the Jeon pack from the outside threats as well as from his desire to live a life that was not dictated by the pack's traditions.
There must be something more to life than the obligations that Jungkook had taken up, he may have thought this during the times when he was alone and had time to contemplate at night when everyone else was asleep. There was a desire for freedom, a desire for togetherness, and a desire for a future that would not only entail his existence as the future alpha of the Jeon pack but also as a man who could find solace in the arms of someone he loved.
2 YEARS BACK
The ballroom buzzed in anticipation as Jungkook waded through the sea of luxurious trimmings and coverings that acted to masquerade almost every inch of skin. Every year, it was not just any social gathering but one that assured a turn of balances in power through strategic movement, a show of strength for packs looking for alliances born from mating rituals. For Jungkook, this night bore an even heavier expectation, to find his future Luna, his mate, who would secure the Jeon pack's position in influence.
"It's time you found your mate, the future Luna of our pack," his father cut through the murmurs in the room, his voice thick with a dark chocolate scent, marking his authority. Jungkook was barely 23, confused by his desires and uncertainties, gripping his wine glass to conceal his frustration.
"I'm not ready, Dad. I still have two years," Jungkook replied with some control he was trying to rein in over his destiny due to pack politics breathing down on his neck.
"You know that every empire will approach you with the intention to mate with their offspring, we too need strong allies, choi are gaining power, that bastard mated 3 omega to strengthen his power" the pheromones of dark chocolate spiced up, Some heads tilted to their table, but no one approached the private table.
