_____________

SEOUL, 12:37 AM

The night's darkness is fearsome, but this is not the first time Omega Jimin is in the outer empty yard of the city. And it was not the first time when he had been in the heat without a scent blocker. His scent of roses and vanilla is so rich that a person can smell it from a mile away.

Heat waves have no mercy on him. He is barely sane with all the pain he enduring.
He always wished to have an alpha who would be responsible and respectful. A protector and provider. But does he deserve it when, in return, he has nothing to offer? His omega hissed; his human side always accepted what this cruel world was giving him. But his bitchy wolf thinks otherwise.

His omega cherishes his human side; if not for his bitchy omega, who growled at every other bastard with not-so-good intentions, he wouldn't survive. But he is still ashamed of himself, and his omega thinks he is the most beautiful person inside out who deserves the world and stars, even the universe.

The world is cruel to him, but he learns to make it possible to survive. Even when everything is so harsh, he is still kind to the world. His omega knows that makes him go feral sometimes when his human side is in danger. But the cruel world has no mercy, He finds himself sedated with wolfbane because that is how society treats lonely omega who goes feral to save himself from the bastards who try to touch him. It's okay. But it is.

He wouldn't have survived 23 years without the omega whom he called bitchy. Whatever the situation is, he is never demanding, even in harsh times. His omega wants him to see the positive that he will fight the world for him. Calling him bitchy always reminds him how his omega strongly opposes the world and himself when they think he is unworthy. His omega goes on the front foot to fight whoever comments nasty. He is grateful for him.

Still, he feels for more. Want more? The love and affection. Is it too much to dream? He never goes this vulnerable, but his heat is taking a toll on his emotions.
He wants to spend his heat in his den. Maybe the alpha will be there to love. Not for the lust. Again what he offers in return. Nothing. Just unworthy.

It's two days since he hasn't eaten anything; the last bread he had was given to the puppy he found on the way. The street was his second home and animals are his friend. It has been a month since he lost his low-paying job, so his dorm. The job in the bar is something he despises at the core. But what to expect when he has lost all the documents, not lost but snatched away by his foster parents? Parents were the last word to use for them when he was the source of their income, they thought.

At the age of 13, the government announced it would provide for all expenses for adoption if people were willing to adopt. His foster parents treat it like an opportunity to earn from the government. Suddenly, getting adopted was the last thing he dreamt of at 13. Little did he expect to love and care, and he got nothing. Had a school because it was mandatory for his unwilling parents.
College was something he fought for, when all his parents wanted at 18 was to marry him to the alpha of 43 years who offered a bunch of cash.

But he and his omega fought, and his parents lost control legally at 20, but that was when they were providing for his college, and he had to listen. When he graduated, all he wanted was to secure a good job and freedom. The rich bastard of 45 years, choi miseok, again entered his life with intention of mating when he already had 2 children of jimin's age. His parents took his documents, and he left them on the streets when he rejected the idea.

With power on their side jimin has nowhere to go. With the information, his real parents are still there in the world. When he suffered in hospital, then in an orphanage and his foster home and now on the streets.

All he now wanted to know was why he was unloved. Finding real parents is a hard task as he has only the locket that has Golden P engraved. Nothing more.

_______________

Standing at the break of dawn, Jimin was on the outskirts of Seoul, a city that was both his home and battlefield. The night was long and the heat unbearable; his heat was a constant reminder of his presence to his senses. However, at the break of the new day, there was a new feeling that replaced the discouragement and that feeling dwelled in his heart.

Jimin dragged his feet towards a small park he used to visit when he was alone at such times. This to him was a place where he could think without the disturbance of wind blowing through trees, making whirring sounds and birds singing in the background. He sat on an iron bench that had shown signs of rust from years of use and took a deep breath to calm down with the fresh morning air from the night's stress.

The locket was still tightly held in his fist and it shone in the early morning light. It had been his only friend during the years of confusion and a testimony of his aspirations and the unknown future. Jimin ran his fingers over the shape of the "Golden P" carved into it and, for the nth time, pondered on its relation to his past.

Holding the locket in his hands, he whispered, "I will find you," as if he were talking to the "Golden P" which was his name for the identity that could explain his past. "And when I do, I will not let go until I get to the truth."

His omega, always on the lookout for any harm to his partner, woke up inside of him. It was a part of himself that had saved him on several occasions, a spirit that was inextinguishable despite the harshness of the world. Jimin had realized that there was something instinctive that one could believe in, even when everything else seemed to be out of control.

But suffering was not the only thing that he could see a glimpse of hope, a hope that one day he would be able to find someone who would accept him and love him. Not from any alpha, but from someone who looked past the marks and the flaws, someone who loved him for the fighting spirit in him and the goodness of his soul.

Jimin then stood up from the bench, gathering his resolve once more and started his day.

With this determination, Jimin started walking to face the day that was beginning in the city around him. For in his heart, he bore the dream that one day he would be free from the past, free to chase his dreams, free to believe that somewhere out there was his space in the world.

Jimin put the locket inside his shirt pocket and stepped out into the unknown, whatever the day held in store for him.
