It was Sunday evening and the bell rang. Shrishti, who was lounging in front of her TV, got up to open the door, confused as to who came at this time. Normally she would be out cycling at this time but it had been raining a lot and her Pappa had banned her from cycling in rain. So she was wasting her time in front of the TV.
Shrishti opened the door to see Raghav standing there with a little smile on his face, a smile only she could detect and she was sure that no one other than her, Arpit and Megha could see it.
'May I come in?', he asked gently.
She nodded and let him in, her heart thudding in her chest. Did he have to look so handsome in kurta jeans? Men and their easy way of looking dashing in home clothes! She grumbled in her mind.
He took a seat and she sat opposite him, not wanting to be close to him. That would be so bad or her crush. But then she raised her eyes, found him staring at her and then looked down. He was right in front of her! Oh no! That was worse than sitting next to him!
'So... how may I help you?', she asked softly.
'Tea.', he murmured as he pulled out sachets from his pocket. She stared at him with confusion. He smiled at her. 'Its been a while since we had tea together. I brought a book too.', he waved the book he was holding in his other hand, something she had not noticed. Of course, she did not notice. When the crush looked so handsome, who cared what was in their hands or legs or even the torso for that matter!
'Lets go.', she replied quietly. They went to kitchen and with the help of cook, she had the tea ready. They sat together on the dining table in silence, sipping the tea quietly.
As she took a sip, Raghav spoke up, 'I have heard something unusual recently.'
She did not glance at him, if she had, she would have seen the amusement and mischief on his face. 'What is it?'
He did not reply and she took another sip. Just as she sipped, he blurted out, 'I heard you are Arpit's Bhabhi!'
'Pssst!'
The tea sprayed from her mouth and onto the table. She looked at him with alarm and was aghast to see him laughing at her reaction.
'You did that purposefully!', she cried out.
He nodded while he calmed down. But one glance at her and he began to chuckle again. She huffed, annoyed as she grabbed a towel and wiped the dining table. She was thankful the floor and the teapot and anything else was spared. It was because she was sipping and not gulping the tea down. If it was a mouthful of tea, she had no idea how many things would be dirtied by it.
Raghav looked amused as Shrishti took her tea cup to wash before making another cup for her. This time she came to sit beside him. He raised his brows. She gave him a sweet smile. 'So that if you crack another joke, the tea would be sprayed on your clothes. Ruining them with tea strains would be the best revenge.' She glared at him and he leaned back, looking genuinely spooked by her threat. Good! That would teach him a lesson.
After few sips though, Shrishti's annoyance vanished and she sighed. 'I am sorry.'
'Haan?'
'Raghav..... We used your name to get rid of Deepak. I am sorry.' Shrishti said uncomfortably. Even though her crush was real and Arpit's claim that Shrishti liked Raghav was not false, still Raghav's name had been brought up and turned into a college gossip. She felt guilty for it.
'Why are you feeling sorry? I gave you the permission.'
Shrishti scoffed. 'Doing the deed and then asking you, does not mean permission.'
