Shrishti entered the class praying and hoping that her day would be less drama filled compared to yesterday. Surely, there could be no day worse than a day where she had a spat with Ronnie, a bad Project meeting and then the day ending with Chachi's call. Surely!
Sadly for Shrishti, her prayers did not work.
'What do you mean, the decision was made?', she asked Lekha. The class was about to begin when Lekha had come over asking Shrishti if they could talk. Shrishti nodded, thinking that she wanted to discuss their strategy on getting the boys to agree to their ideas. But what she got from Lekha was something totally out of the blue.
Lekha sighed. 'See.... Yesterday, I went to a mall and Sharad and Kabir and Ronnie and Pratik were there. And they asked me to join them for milkshake. We began to chit chat randomly and we three ended up discussing our project and we decided on the topic right away. Isn't that cool?', Lekha looked excitedly at her. 'We finally have an ad selected now!'
Shrishti stared at Lekha uncomprehendingly. 'You met them in the mall and discussed this?', she asked, her tone calm and quiet in contrast to Lekha. Lekha looked taken aback by her reaction, as if she expected Shrishti to also jump around with excitement. But Shrishti was pretty far off from excitement. She was, infact, at the opposite end of the spectrum.
'Uh.... You ok? You seem.... Off.', Lekha commented, looking distressed. Just then Kabir came over, 'You told her?', he asked Lekha. Lekha nodded. Kabir nodded in response. 'Good. Now we can focus on the project.'
'Wait!', Shrishti said, her voice louder than usual, to the point that it garnered the attention of everyone in the class. But Shrishti did not care.
'You guys met at mall and discussed the Project?', she asked Kabir.
Kabir shrugged. 'Yeah. It just happened.'
Shrishti's brows went up. 'And you did not see anything off with that?'
Kabir chuckled. 'What is off with that?'
'Shrishti...', Lekha began, 'Are you sure you are over Sharad?' Kudos to Lekha that she asked this question in a whisper, instead of shouting out loud and get everyone's attention on her past.
She frowned. 'What does that have to do with this?', she could not help but ask.
'I mean...', Lekha looked uncomfortable, 'You liked him and I met him and....'
'Why are you justifying this to her?', Kabir cut in and asked Lekha.
Shrishti huffed. 'Ok. Listen you two. This has nothing to do with your darling Sharad, ok? Grow up.', she said, uncaring how harsh she sounded, 'This is to do with the project.', she raised her voice, 'How can you make a decision about our project without my, as in one of the members', input?'
'What is going on here?', Sharad came over.
Shrishti did not hesitate. She glared at him. 'You three made a decision about project without consulting me, correct?'
'Err.... Yes?', Sharad looked confused as if he did not understand what was getting her angry.
Her ire only rose. 'Am I a member of our team or not?'
'You are!', Sharad said right away.
'Then why was I left out of the discussion?', she asked, her voice sharp like a knife.
Lekha's eyes widened while Sharad looked stunned. They deserved each other, she thought. So naïve and in their own world that they did not even realise what they did was wrong! Living in their own lalaland! Bunch of idiots! She thought angrily.
