Shrishti entered the women's western wear store with Raghav in tow and began to browse around. But nothing caught her eye. She looked at Raghav. 'See anything that you think would suit me?'
Raghav shook his head. 'Nothing yet to catch my eye. But then what do I know about girls' clothing? And what do I know about what would look good on you?'
Shrishti nodded. She was the fashionista here! Not Raghav! And yet, she felt disappointed. She did not even realise that she had wished that Raghav would end up choosing something for her too, just like she had chosen his outfits for him. She shook her disappointment away. She was being silly.
Once they walked through the latest season outfits, Shrishti gave up on it as she did not like a single one of them and walked away with Raghav in tow. They ended up in kids' clothing store and Shrishti and Raghav ended up choosing a cute pair of shoes and some sparkly children's make up for Megha. Shrishti noticed that Megha was at a phase where she was curious about make up. So Shrishti reasoned with Raghav that it was better that she taught the kid instead of letting her friends educate her and not learn the right techniques. Raghav shrugged. He seemed to think Shrishti knew better about such things. Shrishti was amused. She was two years younger to Raghav! How would she know better than Raghav!
'Your make up has been always on point.', Raghav said in reply, 'I have noticed that you do wear make up on daily basis but it seems simple and yet during parties you have worn them in a correct manner. I have yet to see you look like a mess.', he paused, 'Unless of course you are crying. Then its black river down your cheeks.'
Shrishti gasped and slapped Raghav slightly on his arm for his teasing. Then she sighed. Raghav was right though. Despite all the bad things her Chachi and Bua had done to her, they were not bad people. They were just selfish people who put their own children above Shrishti. And yet, they did teach her some good things. And one of the things that they taught her was to be good at make up. Even in her past life, she was well known for looking her best every day and in every situation.
Once done with the shopping, the duo began to look around and somehow ended up at an arts and craft store.
'Doesn't Arpit enjoy sketching?', Shrishti asked. Raghav nodded. 'Lets buy something for him too.'
'You are going to buy something for everyone you know!', Raghav mused, looking amused.
Shrishti shrugged. 'Why not! I told you. Buying things for others make me happy.'
'What else makes you happy?'
'Making you smile.', she replied absentmindedly as she compared the brushes and tried to remember that one time Arpit went off into a tangent about right brushes. She shrugged. Might as well buy both! She headed to the paint section only to realise that her shadow was not following her. She turned to look at Raghav only to see him stare at her.
'What?' she tilted her head.
'Nothing.' He shook his head but his gaze remained on her, soft and caring. She averted her eyes, her heart rabbiting in her chest. 'Lets go.' She mumbled and led the way, this time her shadow followed her.
After buying things for Arpit, Shrishti and Raghav went to get some lunch.
'What to eat? Chinese? Italian?', Shrishti asked Raghav.
'You do know that I am a cook and I could cook the same dishes better at home for you?' he looked at her with amusement.
Shrishti giggled. 'Fine. Lets have some fast food then.'
Raghav opened his mouth and Shrishti placed her hand on his mouth. 'I know. I know. You can cook that too better. Uff! One cannot even eat outside with you.'
