Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of The Shadows

Chapter 9

*3rd POV*

"If you're gonna press charges, just press charges." EC said as she was so annoyed that they were going through this. "And you still owe her a phone call." Casey and April piped in. "I don't owe anybody anything until you tell me where those turtle things and that girl came from." Vincent said. 

"From New Hampshire." Casey said sarcastically. "Wow. You're actually even a bigger loser than I thought." Vincent said before knocking on the door before she was let out. The door shut behind her locking the three humans in the room.

"Don't worry about her, Casey. She's just trying to get under your skin." EC said softly as she looked at him. "Nah, she's right. Been hearing that my whole life. You know, I've only ever really had one goal. I wanted to make detective in the New York City Police Department. I wanted to put criminals away, not just keep them in cages. But working Corrections, you do learn two good things. One, justice comes in all shapes and sizes. Two, it's wait easier to pick a cop's pocket than you might think." Casey said before taking a phone out of his pocket.

EC and April smile at him. Casey tossed the phone to April who caught it. "Make your call." Casey said softly, waiting to see who she calls as EC smiles and got up and hugged Casey, causing him to hug her back happily.

Vern was blowing air into some bags. He heard his cell phone vibrating; he picked it up and saw who it was and answered. "O'Neil!" Vern said. "Vern, listen, I need you to..." April said but heard the hissing in the background.

"What is that sound?" April asked, noting knowing what the sound was. "Just a little side venture. Falcon breath. Turns out, people are willing to pay $200 a pop for a bag of my hot air." Vern said as he put his feet on his table. 

"Okay, look, forget I asked. Casey, EC and I are in police custody." April said as she spoke quietly about that last part. Vern chuckles. "Shocking! Why would they want to question you? I mean, just because you broke into their headquarters." Vern said.

"Vern, look, EC and I got bigger problems than myself right now, okay? Baxter Stockman doctored the footage from TCRI, but I'm betting that there's some sort of a secondary feed that will show that he's been working with Shredder and that they turned Bebop and Rocksteady into mutants." April spoke quickly.

"Look, uh... What do you want from me?" Vern asked as he was tired of being asked favors from April and the others. "I want you to be the hero that the whole city thinks you are." April said genuinely as Casey and EC were pacing in the background.

Vern exited an elevator that led to Stockman's lab but a man stopped him. "Coming through." Vern said as he tried to go through but was stopped. "It's a restricted area." The man said. "Restricted? You know, I know something that will open just about any door in this town." Vern said before pulling his key to the city out. "Key to the city." He said.

The man stared at him with shock. "You're the Falcon--" The man tried to say but Vern stopped him from saying anything else. "You haven't earned the respect yet to say my name out loud. You want to put yourself on the path to that respect, run downstairs and grab me a mochaccino." Vern said as he pats the guys chest, who listens and lets Vern through.

Vern began looking around. "Secondary surveillance, where would you be? Come on, Vern... you were a cameraman before you got all fancy." Vern said before looked around before noticing cameras. 

"One camera, two camera, three camera. Why isn't there a fourth... Hidden camera. Bingo!" Vern said as he spotted a clock that had a hidden camera on the inside. He went towards it and smiled. He grabbed a chair and tried to stand on it, but it didn't work since it was a chair with wheels. 

He soon got it to stand, and he stood in front of the camera. "Right on time." Vern said softly before he took the camera off the wall and saw a cord. He began to pull it which it circled all around the room and he had to do this quickly, which he did as quick as he could.

But in the end, he just ended up in the same spot where he begun and flipped the door open to a little device. He put a USB in, and it began to download the footage of what really happened on the USB. Once it was done, he took it out.

*My POV*

We were back on the plane and the four of them were arguing. "You think standing on the sidelines makes you some kind of hero?" Raph asked. "You can't just push past me like that, bro!" Mikey yelled at him.

I haven't said anything since mine and Leo's argument. "You were being a nitwit! You were gonna lose that thing!" Raph shouted at Mikey. "I had it right in my hand, and you acted like I wasn't even there!" Donnie yelled at Leo.

"It's not my job to make your presence known, all right? Get out of your head and communicate!" Leo yelled at him. "Well, what do you expect? He's all logic, no skills!" Raph said as this was getting all out of hand. 

"Coming from the guy who's all instinct, no restraint!" Mikey yelled at Raph. "Dude, what do you know about anything? You're all heart and no brains." Leo said. "How could you? You may know a lot about strategy, but you know nothing about feelings besides love." Donnie said as Raph scoffs.

It all became quiet. I was stared down at my katana ignoring all of them the best I could. "Fair enough." Leo said before he got up. "Leo..." I said warningly but he ignored me. "You want to know the one thing I am feeling? We may be brothers, but we are not a team." Leo said.

That's when I lost it. "What the hell Leo?!" I said as I stood up and got in Leo's face. "What I said is done." Leo hissed at me while we glared at each other. "That is not what a brother does or says!" I yelled.

"They know better than mess up the mission, now the last piece is in the hands of the enemy!" He yelled back." Then what does that make me?!" I shouted as we were at each other's throats. "I don't know!" Leo shouted.

"Tell me honestly Leonardo!" I yelled. "It's impossible!" He shouted. "No, it's not!" I shouted. "You just have no idea how hard it is till you're in my thoughts for once!" Leo shouted at me. "Oh, you wanna play that game?!" I asked pissed. 

"Maybe we will. Right now, I'm not talking to you. Ever." He hissed at me, and I felt my heart break at that. ".... So, that's it?" I asked hurt. "That's it." Leo hissed before walking to the other side of the plane cargo. I felt the tears in my eyes as Raph wrapped an arm around me to comfort me. We all sat in silence.

*3rd POV*

Stockman was putting the last piece on the portal device as Shredder watched. As soon as the device connected to the others, the portal began to open, and the humans backed away. "Yes. We did it." Stockman said.

"It's working." Shredder said. "Once it's fully powered, the portal will be just wide enough for the Technodrome to come through piece by piece. This is gonna be insane!" Stockman said as the portal was still opening.

"Galileo... Issac Newton...Steve Jobs." Stockman said as he chuckles happily as Shredder looked at him. "Their names will be footnotes in the annals of science after what's about to happen here." Stockman said as Shredder looked away since he had a plan for Stockman. Stockman was laughing happily. And there for the portal opened.

| At Police Headquarters |

A female officer guided Vern to Chief Vincent. Vern walked over to Vincent. "Chief Vincent. I'm Vern Fenwick. You might know me as The... Doesn't matter. Listen. You need to see this." Vern said holding the USB he used earlier. 

Vincent watched the real camera footage and looked at the others. April, Casey and EC were guided over to Vern. "Let 'em go. Thank you, Falcon." Vincent said beginning to walk away but Casey stopped her.

"Uh, Chief? You might need this." Casey said as he held her phone to her. She took it from him. "Well played." She said as she held her phone up before putting it in her pocket. "Great. So, I've got a rhino and a warthog to add to our troubles." Vincent said.

"Good looking out." April said patting Vern's shoulder. "Anytime." Vern said as Casey wrapped an arm around EC's shoulder. "I want APB on Dr. Baxter Stockman." Vincent said before she was cut off by a muffled explosion. Everything began shaking as they looked out towards the window, only to see the portal in the sky forming.
