nakatulalang tiningnan siya ni Joan

"h-ha?"

"hm yes Jo?"

"may sinasabi ka?"

"sabi ko ganda mo"

"hatdog!" Sabrina took her hand "Let's go Jo, it's getting late" sabi niya sabay ngiti ng matamis

"Ha? eh how about Gia and Shiloh?" Joan gave Gia and Shiloh a glance at kumaway lamang ang mga ito .

"Gia's gonna drop Shiloh home, eh ikaw may sundo ka na ba?"

"oh, my mom's working late eh at off din ni manong, kaya naman mag ta-taxi lang ako"

"taxi? no, let me drop you off"

"but.."

"no buts, it's already late Jo at ako naman ang dahilan why you stayed late, consider it as me thanking you"

"no biggie sab, you really don't have to-"

"I insist."

Joan sighed in defeat, she just can't resist her, can't she?

"Oo na, sige na"

"yey! wait here I'll get the car"

"ha? teka anong car?" hindi na siya nakarinig ng sagot pa dahil nagmamadaling umalis si Sabrina papuntang parking lot

sabrina completely disappeared and she remembered what she said earlier, pumikit siya ng madiin "maybe I heard her wrong..." sambit niya sa sarili "and why would she say that?"

"say what?" a sudden interruption coming from behind startled her

"Ahjh! tangina Gia ginulat mo ako!" she dramatically put her hand on her chest "kainis to!"

Gia chuckled "mas nakakagulat ka no, you're here all alone talking to.." Gia paused and scanned the place trying to point out the obvious "yourself?"

Jo rolled her eyes "none of your business, maiba nga, where's Shiloh?"

"oh, she told me mauna na raw ako lumabas, she's just...retouching?" she said sounding unsure and making awkward gestures, Jo looked at her smirk forming on her lips

sinundot niya sa tagiliran ang kaibigan niyang tila namumula "you look flushed, hindi ba dapat ikaw ang nag retouch?"

the other girl is about to rebut nang biglaang may sasakyang huminto sa harapan nila, the window slowly went down revealing the other girl she's been waiting for

Gia spoke in a whisper "mukhang need mo narin ng retouch"

Jo hastily cupped her reddening face "high blood lang to" napalunok na lamang siya trying to calm herself down

"hey be safe you two, we'll get going narin" anya ni Gia averting Sabrina's eyes from Jo who's actions is confusing her

"thanks, G! appreciate it so much" Sabrina responded with a sweet smile

"sure thing" after saying that Gia turned to Jo and gave her a pat on the shoulder "calm down Jo, or you'll literally melt into a puddle hindi paman kayo umaabot sa bahay."

"s-shut up!" she stomped away annoyed by Gia's remarks

the other girl just chuckled, she finds it funny when Jo is being pikon

agad naman siyang pumasok sa kotse and silently put her seatbelt on "let's go" she said quietly looking away which made the other girl a bit uneasy

Sabrina gave Gia a nod as good bye before leaving

"hey Jo, what's wrong?" hindi napigilang tanong ni Sabrina

"wala"

"hay" Sabrina sighed bago niya tinapakan ang break at e-park ang kotse sa gilid ng daan

what are you-"

"so magsasalita ka na?"

"ano?"

"you're sulking"

"you're just imagining things Sabrina"

"really? okay then I won't drive you..."

"drive me?"

"home"

"are you threatening me, akala mo ba hindi ko kayang-"

"Ice cream"

"maglakad magisa- what?"

"let's go for ice cream"

"but, it's literally 10pm Sab"

"uh-huh and I don't think that's a no Joan Roble" her lips formed into a curve then she started the ignition

it took them a couple of shops before landing into the last shop that's about to close pero mabuti nalang at nadala pa nang pakiusap AKA pambobola ni Sabrina

"Pacute pa kasi, gusto rin pala"

"Ikaw ang pacute kay kuya no"

"Strategy yun no at pretty privilege, palibhasa hindi mo alam yun"

"Anong hindi? pag ako talaga mag ga-ganun sus"

"Oo nga kaya huwag mo nang subukan..."

"Duh" Joan rolled her eyes at her and they both laugh

"Here" inabot ni Sabrina ang cup ng ice cream kay Joan, sila nalang ang nasa parking lot and as Joan scanned the place, she took a breath, it was beautiful, like they own the world and the time is frozen only to be thawed by them.

"C'mon Jo"

"Where are we going?"

"Basta" Sabrina opened the car door for her and smiles

After a 10 minute drive they arrived to what looked like "the bay!"

Sabrina chuckled "yes Jo, it's the bay, you like it?"

Jo nodded enthusiastically, she bit her lower lip "thanks Sab"

"Sure thing"

Nang makababa sila ay agad binuksan ni Sabrina ang trunk ng kotse niya, she spread out a blanket then she sat and signalled Jo to sit with her

They're quiet just enjoying the scene, watching as the moon reflects the sea. Joan's eyes was glistening and Sabrina was unsure, if it is the breeze of cold air, or the sound of waves or the moon or how Jo's breathing and her heartbeat is in perfect synchrony-

she's been there numerous times and it seems to her that she's in the same but different place

How do you explain that?

How do you explain the feeling of trading everything you have just to stay there for a minute more?

She doesn't know what exactly it is, but it was dangerous.

Everything that takes her sanity away from her is dangerous, and she was sane enough to realize that if Joan would give her even the slightest reason to be insane, she won't contemplate.
