Ch 7 Awakened

Their journey was considered short since they arrived in Gibraltar's main city in the blink of an eye. Ryujin dropped her jaw when big statues of men enchanted magic from different elements welcomed them. Elements like fire, ice, water, wind, light, lightning, and other elements she didn't recognize stood astonishingly in the magician's hands.

"This is Gibraltar Magic Force Association's main office. This statue symbolizes different elemental magic." Yeji explained to Ryujin.

"Wow, I didn't expect their office would be so big." Ryujin widened her eyes.

"Yeah, that's because this is the main office of the Gibraltar region. It's no wonder they have a big office." The orange-haired girl shrugged her shoulders. "Oh, we will take a cab to Magic Academy."

Magic Academy was only around five kilometers from the Gibraltar Magic Force Association. After a short trip, they finally entered the academy ground. Ryujin's imagination of Magic Academy was different from what she saw today. She always imagined that the Magic Academy would be the same as the one she had seen in the Harry Potter movie. Not only was it different, but this Academy seems a bit more modern than other buildings in the Gibraltar region!

"It's... like our modern building. How can it be?" Chaeryeong was the first one to yell about this discovery.

"Yeah, you are right. It's definitely from our architecture." The raven-haired girl mumbled loudly.

The building resembled a modern office skyscraper with many levels and panel glass. If she didn't know it was from this world, she might guess that the building was from her world instead! Is this coincidental? Ryujin wondered in her mind.

Yeji and Lia looked at them weirdly. "Really? Is this architecture the same as from your world?" Both of them nodded.

"Well, I always feel like our Academy architecture is a bit weird... but anyway, welcome to Gibraltar Magic Academy!" The orange-haired girl spread her arms like some tour guide.

The sisters led them into the office area, where they would meet with Professor first. Lia told them she had already arranged their document to enroll in Magic Academy. However, they must first awaken their magic to keep up with the curriculum. The young water mage mentioned meeting with Professor Christopher Bang or Professor Chan from the House of Water, Lia's Dean.

Yeji explained further that the Gibraltar Magic Academy was divided into several houses of elemental magic. There are houses of Fire, Ice, Wind, Light, Water, Lightning, and Earth. Other academies or institutes might have a lot of different elements; since Gibraltar only focuses on elemental magic, they only have seven houses of magic.

The four entered Professor Chan's big room with many books and water magic equipment. A young man with a big smile welcomed them warmly. "Ah, come in. I am waiting for you."

"You must be Ryujin and Chaeryeong, if I'm not mistaken? Lia mentions you both, especially you, Ryujin." Professor Chan stared at Ryujin with an interesting expression.

"EH? Hmm... what about me?" Ryujin stuttered.

"You can use fire without awakening first." The short man smiled a little before leading them to the second section of his room.

"So, which one of you wants to be awakened first?" Chan stared at both Ryujin and Chaeryeong.

Ryujin and Chaeryeong glanced at each other before Chaeryeong nodded first. "I want to try first."

"Okay, Chaeryeong will try first. Before that, do you know the basic concept of magic?"

Chaeryeong frowned. "Is this some sort of quiz?"
