MANGA SPOILERS!!

In the final battle, Giyuu lost an arm and Sanemi lost a few fingers. After the battle, recovery was long and tough for Giyuu.

2 surgeries on his arm and tons of therapy- physical and not. Sanemi stuck with Giyuu the whole time, going to every appointment, helping whenever Giyuu felt bad, everything.

Phantom limb was a bitch. A real fucking bitch. Giyuu sometimes woke up in the middle of the night, severe pain in his stump.

He would look over at it and suddenly become very terrified that his arm was not there anymore. Sanemi would wake to sobbing and would immediately sit up to help Giyuu.

This one particular night was especially rough. Giyuu had been having nightmares recently, about the battle, and the deaths, and Tanjiro becoming a demon for a hot minute.

The nightmare got to its peak when he remembered laying on the ground near a wall, his arm a few feet in front of him.

He woke up, gasping for air as he looked over at his non-existent arm. He started to freak out a little when he reached over and grasped at nothing.

All he could feel was immense pain in his stump, almost like it was just cut off, and Sanemi's arms wrapped around his waist.

He looked down at Sanemi as he tried to focus on him instead of his arm. It didn't help much though.

Giyuu really didnt want to wake up Sanemi, not wanting to be seen as a bother, but the pain was getting too much and he really need Sanemi.

He reached down with his existing arm and shook Sanemi awake. Sanemi blinked his eyes open and looked up at Giyuu, slowly sitting up.

"I'm sorry for waking you up but.. My arm is.." Giyuu mumbled. Sanemi woke up a little quicker after that.

"Do you need the mirror thing Aoi suggested?" Sanemi asked. Giyuu shook his head. "I don't think so."

Sanemi nodded and carefully reached out, taking the stumped limb into his rough hands. Giyuu grunted and Sanemi apologized.

"I'm sorry, I should be able to deal with it myself by now.." Giyuu muttered. "Don't apologize." Sanemi said, carefully beginning to massage the end of Giyuu's arm thingamagig

Giyuu grunted again but relaxed a little bit. Giyuu shifted and leaned his back against Sanemi's chest. Sanemi shifted as well but continued the massage.

A few minutes later Sanemi removed his hands. "Is that good or do you need more?" He asked, looking down at Giyuu.

Giyuu sighed. "I think.. We should do the mirror thing.." Sanemi nodded and stood up, walking to the closet and grabbing a small mirror from it.

He walked back over to Giyuu and sat down behind him once again. Sanemi placed the mirror right next to Giyuu's stumpy lil arm, but facing Giyuu's good arm.

(For people who have had amputation, they sometimes experience something called "phantom limb" which is a bitch :3 now sometimes, they do this thing where they point a mirror at their existing limb and imagine it in the place of the non existing limb- if you have zero idea what I'm talking about then look it up pls-)

Giyuu looked at the mirror and tried to steady his breathing. He relaxed into Sanemi as he slowly started feeling better.

Sanemi kissed Giyuu's cheek and muttered sweet words into Giyuu's ear. After a few slow minutes, Giyuu sighed and told Sanemi to put the mirror away.

Sanemi got up, put the mirror away, before walking back and being tugged i to the futon by Giyuu.

Giyuu shoved his face into Sanemi's chest and wrapped his arm around Sanemi. Sanemi smiled and wrapped his arms around Giyuu.

And they fell asleep and lived happily ever after and pootie butted on Muzan's grave
