Tastuya POV.

....

The next day, I arrived at class early. Before entering, I cautiously scanned the room to see if anyone else was present. Finding it empty, I made my way to my seat, set my bag down, and closed my eyes.

"You're here, Mizuki?" a familiar voice - Horikita's - called out.

"Why did You hold back in swimming?"

Seeing Horikita, I wasn't surprised by her question. During the previous swimming session, I had briefly exerted myself, almost matching Koenji's skill, though it was a fleeting moment that only the observant would have caught.

"Are you asking a question like 'What color are your underwear, Horikita?' Can you answer that?" I replied with a hint of weariness from her persistent inquiries.

A sudden noise broke our exchange. In an instant, my reflexes kicked in, and as I opened my eyes, I noticed a compass protruding from my desk. Horikita, holding her own compass, pointed at me.

Confused, I questioned, "Huh?"

"Cease your evasion, Mizuki. This is your punishment," Horikita sternly declared.

At that moment, a realization struck me - the name she used was Mizuki.

*Flashback*

"Mizuki, where are you?" The voice cut through the air, soft yet laced with a palpable malice that sent shivers down the boy's spine. His smile held a cruel sliver of malevolence.

The man moved with measured steps around the room, his eyes scanning each corner with predatory precision, as if on the trail of a hidden prey. The focus shifted to a boy, hunched in a corner, his fear palpable in the trembling of his body. His tattered clothes draped over him, a patchwork of misery, and his skin bore a map of relentless scars.

“I highly doubt he's here,” the man remarked, briefly alleviating the boy's dread.

"Or perhaps lurking behind this very corner." The man's voice sliced through the stillness with a chilling cadence as he lowered himself, his gaze an icy dagger that pierced through the darkness.

The boy's eyes welled up with tears, fear etched visibly on his face as the man's hand inched closer towards him.

*Flashback ended*

"H-hu-huh what are you doing?"

I took the stab with my left hand, extending it further, and tightened my grip little by little.

"Ow, it hurts, Mizuki. Please let me go."

Through her round eyes, I could see everything – her soul, her personality, her motives. I pushed her down with the weakest, coldest glance I could muster.

"I despise that name."

"What?"

"Do not utter it again. Never."

Horikita POV....

Horikita couldn't believe the situation she found herself in. The empty classroom provided no escape as the other person stood firmly in front of her, gripping her arm just as she was about to strike with a compass. His unexpected strength caught her off guard, making her initial attempt to break free futile.

Straining against his hold, Horikita called out, "Ow, Mizuki, please let me go." But as she struggled, a chilling realization crept over her; she had crossed a line she never intended to cross. The gravity of her actions weighed heavily on her conscience, filling her with a sense of dread.

Fear and regret mingled within her as she struggled to comprehend the consequences of her impulsive decision. In that moment, surrounded by silence and the weight of her mistake, Horikita knew she had to confront the repercussions of her actions and find a way to make amends before it was too late.

The excruciating pain surged through him as the compass pierced his palm, the tip emerging from the other side.

Mizuki finally spoke, his voice cutting through the silence like a blade.

"I hate that name," he uttered with a chilling, icy tone, his eyes devoid of warmth, as though a void of darkness had consumed them. The darkness in his gaze seemed to swallow the light, sending a shiver down my spine.

"What?" I asked, my confusion evident.

"Don't call me by that, ever," he demanded, his eyes piercing mine with a frigid intensity.

"Why do you not want me to call you that?"

"Because I told you. That's all," he replied, the frost in his eyes unwavering.

"I don't under-" I attempted to speak but was abruptly cut off.

"Is it clear," he stated firmly, his cold gaze shutting down any further discussion.

"IS IT CLEAR." Each word was like an icy barrier, preventing me from reaching out to him.

"*Sigh*" Tastuya
