POV: Third Person
The pair went off to their perspective classes, and agreed to meet at the Cafeteria to have lunch. Estella typically bought her food and left to eat by herself somewhere secluded or just quiet. She wasn't a fan of loud groups of people, at least not anymore. It was different before...before everything happened. She hoped that she could keep herself calm, but was worried about the inevitable stares that she would get walking into the Cafeteria with the popular jock. It wasn't that she cared what people thought of her, but she didn't want Milo to get shit for being with the freaky new girl. It was only a matter of time before he realized that she would only drag him down, and she wasn't exactly eager for it to happen.
Estella was the first to arrive at the Cafeteria and she peeked her head in, looking for Milo. But so far, he didn't seem to be there. She waited a few agonizing minutes, before really beginning to get nervous.
He's not going to show.
I don't blame him.
He's embarrassed to be seen with me.
Maybe he chickened out. He probably regrets asking me to be his girlfriend. Maybe he changed his mind and wants some "secret girlfriend" bullshit, or maybe he doesn't want me at all.
Fuck it. I'm not waiting around here like an idiot.
She turned abruptly about to stomp off, when she was halted by a hand on her shoulder.
"Hey, where you going?" Milo asked, in a chipper tone.
Estella looked up at him and breathed out a silent sigh of relief,
"Oh, no where." She lied. "Um, hi."
"Yeah, I'm sorry I'm Iate. I wanted to bring you something." He revealed, handing her a small flat rectangular box.
"Is it going to explode?" Estella quipped, with a hint of suspicion.
"Yes." He replied, sarcastically. "You've finally unveiled my evil plan."
Estella chuckled, but was still suspicious.
"What are you waiting for, girl? Open it." Milo pressed, with enthusiasm.
She opened the light blue box and pulled out a silver chain, and hanging from it was a charm, a silver star with alternating purple and black stones.
"This is for me?" Estella gasped.
"If, you know...you like it. If you don't though, it's totally okay! I just saw it and thought about the stars in your room. I just kinda figured that like-- since you're my girlfriend now, that I could give you something, that was like..." His nervous stammering came to a sudden stop, when Estella jumped on him, throwing her arms around him in a rare moment of vulnerability for her.
"I guess that means you like it then, huh?" He chuckled at her reaction.
"Thank you." She said, pulling away and looking up at him once again, composing herself back into a more stoic state.
"Don't worry, Princess. I won't tell anyone that you got all excited over something pretty and shiny." He teased.
"It's not that. I mean, it is really pretty. It's that it's a star." She replied.
"What is it with you and stars anyway?" He asked, genuinely curious.
"That's my name." She explained.
"Estella?"
She nodded, "It means, star."
"Oh..." Milo replied, in realization. "Well, you're the most beautiful star, I've ever De-seen." He teased, affectionately.
