06: sleepover

The nights at the infirmary were lonely.

On the weekend, Suguru was over one evening as Satoru was asleep after a long and hard assignment he had completed alongside Mei and Kento.

It was approaching ten o'clock, and you sighed in disappointment, knowing Suguru had to leave and you hadn't been sleeping well.

You weren't used to sleeping alone. You always shared a room with Satoru.

Suguru looked up from the book he was reading and noticed the solemn expression on your face as you looked down at your lap.

"Is everything okay?" Suguru asked as he set his book down on his lap.

"Yeah... I just haven't been sleeping well because I'm not used to sleeping alone in a room. It's hard to adjust sleeping separately from Satoru." You answered honesty.

"You lived with Satoru?" Suguru asked, propping his hand under his chin as he listened to you.

You nodded your head and said "Yeah. Most of my life."

"Why's that? You aren't related, are you?" Suguru didn't know how far the two of you went back, and how inseparable you were. The bond was very deep.

You rubbed your arm awkwardly, knowing how you met Satoru wasn't exactly a pleasant experience and not one you were prideful of.

In fact, it was kind of embarrassing.

"Well,"

Suguru sensed your hesitance to tell him, and it made him all the more curious.

"You promise you won't tell anyone? How I met Satoru?" You asked in a small voice.

Suguru closed his book and set it on the coffee table before walking up to you and sitting at your feet on the bed.

"Of course I won't." Suguru brought out his pinky finger and said "I pinky promise."

You smiled and brought yours out, wrapping it around his.

"The Gojo clan bought me from a trafficking ring my father brought me to... to be Satoru's pet." You admitted, flushing in embarrassment.

Suguru's eyes widened as he said "Well... I don't know what I was expecting, but it certainly wasn't that."

"But, on the bright side I was treated very well by Satoru and his family." You said.

Suguru gave you a reassuring smile and said "Good."

The sun had already set and you sighed as you said "What time are you planning on leaving?"

"I don't have to if you don't want me to." Suguru said.

You smiled and said "Really? You'll stay the night?"

"Yeah, I just have to get my blanket from my dorm." He said.

You clapped your hands and said "Yay, we're having a sleepover."

Suguru returned from his dorm with his comforter and pillow, wearing a pair of grey sweatpants and a black tee-shirt.

He also seemed to let his hair down from the bun it was usually in.

"Oh, Suguru, I've never seen you with your hair down."

He laughed and set his things down on the couch and said "Oh, yeah? I usually have it up unless I'm getting ready for bed."

"I like it." You said.

He smiled as he made his way to your bed, holding a box of puzzle pieces as he pulled the overbed table towards you, lining the tray with your lap.

"I brought a puzzle since we don't have anything going on tomorrow, so I thought we could stay up a little later." Suguru said.

You spent the next hour completing the puzzle together, laughing and cracking jokes with each other until you both got tired.

Suguru switched the lights off as the moonlight spilled into the room from the parted curtains.

"Goodnight, Y/n." Suguru said.

"Goodnight, Suguru." You responded.

That night, Suguru couldn't sleep. He usually couldn't.

He sat on the couch, bags under his eyes as his were fixated on your sleeping form.

He had only known you for a few days, and he came to the conclusion that he definitely had a crush on you.

So did Satoru, obviously. But he couldn't compete with him considering he had years and years of a relationship with you then Suguru did.

He sat up from the couch, walking up to you and gazing down at you as you breathed softly.

You looked so peaceful. He wished he could achieve that kind of relaxation.

The next morning, Satoru opened the door and said "Good morning, Y/n!"

He was holding a bag of McDonald's that he brought for you, feeling bad he didn't bring you a gift yesterday.

Then, he noticed you were still asleep. "She's usually up at this time..." Satoru said as he read the clock, seeing it was eleven a.m.

Then, a pit in his stomach formed when he saw Suguru folding his blankets, wearing pajamas.

"Suguru? What are you doing here?" He asked.

"I spent the night since Y/n didn't want to be alone." He said.

"Oh? What did you guys do last night?" Satoru asked, his voice sharp with clear anger.

He wasn't used to you forming relationships outside of him. He was so used to you all to himself.

He didn't like it at all.

"We just did a puzzle and then went to sleep." He said.

"Suguru?" Your soft voice was heard as you sat up in your bed and rubbed your eyes.

Suguru.

That was the first name you called out as you woke up. Not Satoru. The sickness in his stomach worsened.

"Satoru, actually." He said as he walked up to you.

"Oh, good morning, Satoru." You said and flashed him a smile.

"Guess what I got you?" He said as he held the McDonald's bag behind his back.

"What?" You asked.

He pulled out the bag and said "Tah-dah! I got your usual."

You giggled into your palm and accepted the bag. "Thank you, Satoru."

"Ah, Suguru, I didn't get you anything." Satoru said as he turned his back to the dark haired man.

"That's alright." Suguru said.

You pulled the contents out of the bag and said "Suguru and I had a sleepover."

"Yeah? How was it? Not as good as our sleepovers, I bet." He snickered as he took a bite from his quarter-pounder.

"It was fun." You said. "Thank you for coming, Suguru."

He waved at you and said "It was my pleasure."

Suguru could tell Satoru was pissed, and he was doing a pretty good job at restraining himself despite his impulsive nature.

And Suguru enjoyed the jealousy radiating off of him. It was obvious, yet you seemed oblivious to Satoru's frustrations.

Suguru was definitely going to stick around, because he liked you and he liked pissing Satoru off.
