Nadia  was buzzing with a mix of excitement and anxiety as she entered the lecture hall for her economics class. The upcoming group presentation had her feeling both thrilled and nervous. Economics was her favorite subject, and she had spent countless hours poring over textbooks and research papers. Yet, the thought of standing in front of her classmates, presenting her work, made her stomach churn.

The assignment was straightforward: work in groups to analyze a recent economic event and present their findings to the class. When the groups were announced, Nadia found herself partnered with Aaron's friends, which added a layer of anticipation to her already frazzled nerves. She was both eager to impress and worried about fitting in with Aaron's circle.

As the class ended, Nadia approached her group, her palms slightly sweaty. Aaron's friends, James and Leo, greeted her with friendly smiles.

"Hey, Nadia," James said. "Ready to tackle this project?"

Nadia nodded, trying to mask her nervousness with enthusiasm. "Absolutely! I love economics, so I'm really looking forward to this."

Leo glanced at Aaron, who had just joined them. "Looks like we've got a good team here. Let's meet up in the library this afternoon to get started."

Later that day, the group gathered in a quiet corner of the library. Nadia felt a sense of camaraderie as they spread out their notes and laptops. The topic they chose was the impact of global trade policies on emerging markets, a subject Nadia had already been researching independently.

"Okay, so here's what I've found so far," Nadia began, sharing her notes with the group. "We can divide the presentation into three parts: introduction to the policies, their effects on various markets, and our analysis of potential future trends."

James and Leo listened attentively, impressed by Nadia's thorough preparation. Aaron, who had joined them, smiled encouragingly.

"Great job, Nadia," Aaron said. "This is a solid foundation. Let's build on it."

As the group worked together, Nadia's initial anxiety began to ebb. She felt confident in her knowledge and appreciated how her teammates valued her input. Over the next few days, they met regularly, refining their presentation and practicing their parts.

The day of the presentation arrived. Nadia's heart pounded as she walked into the lecture hall, clutching her notes. Her group took their place at the front of the room, and Nadia glanced at the audience, feeling a familiar wave of nervousness. James started with the introduction, followed by Leo's segment on specific market impacts. Nadia's part was last, focusing on future trends and their analysis. As she stepped forward, she noticed a group of boys in the back, smirking and whispering. Her anxiety spiked, but she took a deep breath and began her segment.

"Emerging markets face unique challenges and opportunities due to global trade policies," Nadia started, her voice steady despite her racing heart. She continued, gaining momentum, her passion for the subject evident in her delivery.

Midway through her presentation, the boys in the back began to make snide comments, attempting to throw her off. Nadia felt a flush of embarrassment but pushed through, focusing on the material she had diligently prepared.

"And in conclusion," she said, wrapping up her segment, "understanding these trends is crucial for policymakers and investors alike."

The room was silent for a moment before her classmates erupted into applause. Nadia felt a surge of relief and pride. Despite the distractions, she had delivered her presentation flawlessly. Just as Nadia was about to sit down, their economics teacher, Professor Jacobs, called the boys who had been disruptive to the front of the class.

"Since you seem to have a lot to say," Professor Jacobs began, his tone stern, "why don't you share your insights with the rest of us? Please present your analysis of the same topic."

The boys exchanged nervous glances, clearly unprepared. They stumbled through a few incoherent sentences before Professor Jacobs stopped them.

"That's enough," he said, shaking his head. "It's clear you haven't done the work. You owe Miss Thompson an apology for trying to undermine her presentation."

The boys muttered apologies, avoiding eye contact with Nadia. She felt a sense of vindication, though the experience had been unsettling.

As the class ended, Aaron walked over to Nadia, his expression concerned. "Are you okay?"

Nadia nodded, though her hands still trembled slightly. "Yeah, it was just... intense."

"You were amazing," Aaron said, his voice full of admiration. "Don't let those idiots get to you."

Over the next few days, Nadia noticed the boys from her class lingering around the library and other common areas, their presence making her uneasy. She confided in Emma, who advised her to stay alert and not let them intimidate her.

Aaron, sensing Nadia's discomfort, made a point of walking with her to and from classes, ensuring she felt safe. One afternoon, as they sat in the library, Aaron spoke up.

"Hey, if those guys bother you again, let me know," he said. "You don't have to deal with them alone."

Nadia smiled gratefully. "Thanks, Aaron. It means a lot to have you by my side."

As the semester progressed, Nadia found herself growing closer to Aaron and his friends. They supported her not just in their project but also in navigating the complexities of college life. Through their encouragement, Nadia's confidence continued to blossom, and she learned to stand tall against the challenges thrown her way.
