The next few days flew by in a whirlwind of activity. Nadia immersed herself in her studies, balancing her economics project and preparations for her upcoming internship applications. With Aaron and Emma's unwavering support, she felt empowered to pursue her ambitions and carve her own path.

One afternoon, while they were studying in the library, Nadia turned to her friends, her excitement bubbling over. "I found an internship opportunity with a local financial consultancy. They're looking for summer interns to assist with market research. I'm thinking about applying!"

Emma's eyes lit up. "That sounds perfect for you, Nadia! You have to go for it!"

Aaron nodded, his expression thoughtful. "Make sure your application showcases your skills and the project we're working on. You've learned a lot about economic analysis, and that'll impress them."

Nadia felt a surge of confidence wash over her at their encouragement. "You're right! I'll start drafting my application tonight."

After their study session, Nadia returned to her family's home, feeling invigorated. She opened her laptop and began working on her application, carefully outlining her experience, skills, and the passion she had for finance. She poured her heart into the cover letter, detailing how the internship aligned with her career aspirations.

Just as she finished, a message popped up from Emma. Hey, are we still on for movie night tomorrow?

Nadia smiled, her heart warming at the thought of spending time with her friends. Of course! Can't wait!

The next evening, Nadia, Emma, and Aaron gathered in Nadia's room, armed with popcorn and snacks. They settled onto her bed, the atmosphere light and filled with laughter. As they watched the movie, Nadia felt a sense of belonging wash over her. She realized how much she had grown in such a short time—both personally and academically.

After the movie ended, Aaron glanced at Nadia with a playful grin. "So, when are you going to tell us who your favorite actor is? You can't hide it forever!"

Nadia chuckled, feigning contemplation. "Hmm, tough question! I have a soft spot for those who can portray complex characters. Maybe I'll keep it a secret a little longer."

Emma laughed, leaning back against the wall. "We'll just have to dig it out of you eventually!"

As their laughter filled the room, Nadia felt a wave of warmth. It was moments like these that reminded her of the importance of friendship and support. But just as she began to relax, her phone buzzed with a notification. It was a message from her father.

We need to talk. Aunt Hannah wants to see you this weekend.

Nadia's heart sank at the thought. Her aunt's presence always brought a cloud of tension that she dreaded.

The weekend arrived, and as Nadia prepared to visit her family for the gathering, she couldn't shake the knot of anxiety in her stomach. She resolved to stay strong, reminding herself of the progress she had made.

During the family dinner, Aunt Hannah was already waiting, her expression stern. As the family settled down to eat, Aunt Hannah turned her gaze toward Nadia. "We need to talk about your future," she began, her tone unyielding.

Nadia took a deep breath, steeling herself for the conversation. "I know, Aunt Hannah. But I'm happy with my choices, and I'm making progress in college."

Hannah's eyes narrowed. "Progress? Your friends are a distraction. You should be focusing on building a career."

"Not all friendships are distractions, Aunt Hannah. They help me grow and support me," Nadia replied, feeling her determination rise.

Hannah scoffed, crossing her arms. "Support? Or are they just holding you back? Speaking of which, I've been thinking about your future—specifically, your marriage."

Nadia's heart raced. "Marriage? I'm only in college!"

Hannah leaned in, her voice low but insistent. "There's a wonderful young man from a good family who's expressed interest in you. He's well-settled and would provide you with a stable life. It's time to consider your options."

Nadia felt her face flush with a mix of anger and disbelief. "Aunt Hannah, I'm not ready for that! I have my studies and my goals."

Aunt Hannah raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. "And what do you think a degree will do for you if you're not prepared for marriage? You need to think about your future more seriously."

Nadia stood her ground, her voice steady. "No, Aunt Hannah. I want to build my career first. I want to explore my options without being pressured into something I'm not ready for."

The tension in the room thickened, but Nadia felt empowered by her words. She had the right to pursue her dreams without being weighed down by someone else's expectations.

Hannah opened her mouth to argue, but just then, her father intervened. "Hannah, we've discussed this. Nadia is doing well, and she's happy. That's what matters."

Nadia felt a rush of gratitude for her father's support. Hannah's expression softened slightly, though she still looked unconvinced. "I just want what's best for you, Nadia. It's a competitive world out there."

"I know, and I'm ready to face it," Nadia replied, her voice firm. "I want to do this on my own terms."

With that, the conversation shifted, and they began discussing lighter topics. As the evening progressed, Nadia felt the tension slowly dissipate, realizing that she was stronger than she had given herself credit for.

Later, as she lay in bed that night, she reflected on the day's events. She had stood up for herself, and for the first time, she felt a sense of control over her life. With her friends supporting her and her father in her corner, Nadia knew she could tackle any challenges that lay ahead.

With a renewed sense of purpose, she drifted off to sleep, ready for the next chapter of her journey.
