"I thought I'd make you something nice to eat"
I said as she sat in front of me as she dragged the stool from the store room, doubting my cooking skills."don't look at me like that, I cook very well", I added.
"what? Do you want me to believe you?" she rolled her eyes
"you don't remember the salad I made"
"oh tune sabji kaati?"
she said as she held a half-chopped-up cucumber."ruk jao madam ji, you will have to change your statement after taking a bite of the delicacies I am making"
I rolled my eyes at her statement......
I made garlic bread, risotto with spaghetti with a little desi tadka.
I called for as I arranged the table, the dish was looking and smelling extra good today. She sat beside me at the dining table, "I gotta say, this looks very good".
always underestimating me!
she took a bite and her face was worth watching.
Shivani has always loved food, loved is an understatement.she always had a thing or two for food and cooking her something made me feel a bundle of joy.
Look at her eyes widen with shock, the sparkle by the taste of the spaghetti, it was better than I had imagined. The sauce that adorned her bottom lip, one look sent shivers down my spine.
"It's amazing!"
she said turning towards me while I was flustered.
There was nothing pure going on in my mind."nhi nhi mujhe toh banana hi nhi aata," I said rolling my eyes at her, "Shivani.... I thought we could.." I was interrupted by an anonymous sound.
It was her phone ringing, "maa ka phone aaya!"great timing Aunty....kuch kehene doge mujhe!!!
She saw me cursing under my breath, earning another eye roll from her I jumped back to eating the amazing food I made.
She picked up the call and put it on speaker stuffing a spoonful of spaghetti in her mouth."beta I have a surprise for you!" she exclaimed over the phone.
"mummy pichli baar jab surprise diya tha toh meri shaadi ho gayi ab kya bacha dena chati ho!"
I choked on my food."WHAT???"
Why did she say that? Unko dene ki kya zaroorat hai, i am very much capable and imaptient!
"batameez" she yelled, "I planned a trip for you guys.....to Italy!"
'w--" words barely left her mouth, before she could complete her sentence, her mom said, "Make a lot of babies so I don't have to give you one!"
she was all red and flustered.
I tried to look at her but she couldn't even meet my eyes, embarrassment was visible on her face.I could tell where she got her weirdness from, EVIDENT!
She cut the call with haste."do you wanna go?"
she asked innocently with light in her eyes."I mean" I turned back to my food, "why not? we do need a holiday after..... Yeah sure let's go"
I was about to ask her the same thing but I am glad my mother-in-law did, now I don't have to go through the embarrassment to ask her.
she has a habit of blabbering, sometimes it's audible.... sometimes it's not.
all I could hear was, "If not an Italy wedding... I'd stay for an Italy honeymoon".Ma'am, you got married in the most expensive resort in Jaisalmer, like a royal......A ROYAL!
"Never marry a daddy's princess... you might suffer"
I remembered the words of the great Shivaansh Malhotra.
turns out he was kind of right.no, he was not... you are a jerk!
she picked up her plate, "I wanna got to France too"
"well go to France first!"
I planned it.
I had already planned it.I wanted to propose to her in Paris. Even though we were married, it wasn't exactly the way I wanted and since all along I have been a jerk that's the least I can do.
"ill vlog, i wanna vlog"
she yelled from the other room, "Buy me a camera!""Why do you want a camera? vlog on your phone"
vlogging reminds me of the time both our families used to go on tours.
she used to have this Barbie camera and filmed us all day.
she once filmed me Shivaansh falling in a ditch while running when we visited Shillong.embarrassing honestly!
"please!!!!!!! I don't wanna spend money, I just lost a case" she spoke as her eyes elaborated with the fake innocence she tried to emit.
puppy eyes activated!
"ok fine, we'll go to the store tomorrow" I replied
..............
"We are about to get on a 10-hour flight to Venice!"
she switched the camera on and started blabbering shit, this had been going on for the past hour and a half."Our flight is tomorrow, we are not to get on a whatever-hour flight"
I said as I packed the second suitcase"tere suitcase mein jagah hai?"
not this again, I love her!"nhi...nhi.....NHI"
"KEEP THIS!"
she zoomed the camera on my face"NHI...NHI.NHI"
every time we travel, every single time, even after packing three suitcases her clothes are still left."baat mat kar!"
she frowned"acha do...do mujhe ab"
she smiled wide handing me her clothes."wake up at 5 tomorrow"
my voice echoed as I left the room.she ran outside, "5!!! why 5!!!"
"the flight is at 10"
I said opening her laptop"Exactly it's at 10, the airport is 5 mins away"
"early is better than late"
I pushed her into the room, "Sleep tight darling, I love you""Don't call me darling...oh and I don't love you!"
she screamed in my ear while holding my hand"oh really"
I grabbed her hand and pulled her towards me, no space of even air to pass through between us."your..eyes......they say something completely different" I added
"I-- and what do they say"
she whispered in my ear"they say something that your heart wants to say but..." I flicked her head, "your tiny little brain gets in the way and confuses you"
you tiny little stubborn shit!
she kept her hands on my chest for a moment then pushed me away
"This is not how you grovel, sir"
she creamed stomping into her room."I bet it worked, didn't it?"
a naughty smirk evident on my face".........
Comment or else.....sapne mein aake marungi
