Chapter 2:
I have woken up the next morning with the sun beaming through my windows, I looked at my clock and seen that it was 10:05am I crawled out of bed looking for someone, maybe my alarm didn't go off I thought, great. I went down stairs into the kitchen, no one was there "Hello?" I shouted into the quiet house, "Alicia!" Justin said sneaking up behind me, "Why aren't we in school, I'm going to miss my exam!!" I said angrily, "Chill sis, schools cancelled today, due to a heat wave or something-" he paused, I thought to myself- it's California what do you expect? "Wheres mom and dad, are they left yet?! Without telling me!" I began to raise my voice, "You were asleep." Justin said trying to calm me down, "THEY COULD'VE WOKEN ME! ONE YEAR I WONT BE ABLE TO TALK TO THEM JUSTIN!" I began to get worse, "Woah, They left you a note! Calm down Alicia!" Justin gave me the note and I began to read it.
"Alicia, We are in a rush to write this because it's soon time to leave, we didn't want to wake you. We know you need the sleep to relax a bit.. Well you have Aunt Peggy's number if you need anything, also just send me a text, you have my number! Remember, make sure your brother is staying out of trouble, I know he won't. WATER THE PLANTS! MUST DO!!**" I let out a giggle- "Well, we love you and see you in a year, we will call once in a while when we have the chance-- love you lots, don't ever forget that- Stay out of trouble honey! -Mom&Dad xox" I had a smile and pulled out my iPhone and sent a text to my mom-"Got your note! Love you, talk soon!" She probably wont be able to reply until she gets in Toronto. "ALICIA!" I heard Justin scream from the living room, "PHONE!!" he said. Phone, for me? no way.. I have no friends here.. I ran to the living room - he handed me the phone "Hello?" I said wondering who it was, "HEY!! I MISS YOU!" a familiar voice said. "ASHLEY?!" I said excitedly, Ashley was my best-friend in NYC, she was my only friend... "Yeah, it's me! I decided to call you, My mom said that this summer she'll finally have enough money so she can let me come stay with you the whole summer!" she sounded very happy and excited she waited for me to respond "W-w-wow"- I stuttered "That's great! I miss you a lot, ya know, It's not the same.. I have no friends here.. you don't understand how hard it is" I started to tear up- "Awe Aly" Ashley called me Aly for short. "It'll be fine! This summer will be amazing! Just wait!" she sounded happy "Alright Ash-Dash, I have to go, talk soon! love you as a bff!" i then hung up and took out my biology books to study over, since the test is postponed to tomorrow, maybe I could get something studied now that my parents are gone. Justin walked in , "Alicia, Mind if Riley stays over for the night?" he asked, "sure, I don't care. As long as you let me study," I said nicely "at least don't be loud." I finished. "Cool! We wont" He promised, he then left the room. I didn't really mind Riley coming over her was pretty cute and funny, I think I actually like him. I then continued to study
