Osamu didn't know what to do other than smile at his brother when he walked into their room. And based on the look on Atsumu's face, he was willing to bet he had been told the news.
He made room on his bed for Atsumu to sit next to him and sighed. "Hey, Tsumu."
Atsumu immediately sat next to him, space invadingly close like usual, and frowned. "How do you feel?"
"I'm fine. The doctors gave me antibiotics and stuff so my fever is gone."
"That's not what I meant and you know it."
Rolling his eyes, Osamu looked down at his leg, which was now bruised and wrapped in a bandage. "I don't know. I mean, I have cancer, I have to take a lot of medicine now and go to chemo appointments. Oh- and that's also why I've been sick so much recently by the way- but I'm not like... Overly upset about it?"
"But can you still go to school and stuff?"
"Jeez, dude, I'm not dying. I can go to school. And keep playing volleyball."
Atsumu's eyes lit up at that. "Really?"
"Yeah. I mean since it's bone cancer there is a risk of my bones breaking and stuff so I have to be careful, but for now I'm good to play."
"Well I can't believe I'm the one saying this but your health is more important than volleyball so just be careful, okay?"
Osamu stared at his brother in shock. "Who are you and what have you done with my twin?"
Atsumu smiled. "Come on, I've gotta have my bro's back. And if you get yourself too sick and can't play at all the team will fall apart."
"You're being a little dramatic."
"You weren't at practice the last three days."
Osamu raised a brow.
"Our poor Suna was so distressed he couldn't focus on his blocks, for one thing. And Kita and Aran had to keep telling all the first years you'd be back in no time."
Osamu laughed, but it didn't last long. "Tsumu?"
"Yeah?"
"How am I supposed to tell the team? I mean they should know, but I don't want a big deal to be made out of it."
"Will you be at school tomorrow?"
"No. I was told to just take the whole week off."
Atsumu smiled, his usual cocky smile that annoys the hell out of Osamu, and stood up. "You just leave it to your dear big brother then!"
"You're literally older than me by a minute ya jerk."

"Is he really going to be okay to play?"
Atsumu nodded as he stood in front of his team. "That's what he said. I would take it easy with him though."
"I never thought I'd hear those words come out of his mouth," Suna muttered.
Aran laughed and elbowed the second year. "You know sometimes I think you share a brain with Osamu as much as Atsumu does."
Kita smiled fondly at his team's antics before pulling Atsumu to the side. "You know, you could have a break too if you needed. I know we promised not to make a big deal of anything but this can't be easy for you either."
"I appreciate it, but nah..." Atsumu grinned and turned to look to where the rest of his team was getting getting ready to play. "I think Samu would kill me if I stopped giving a hundred percent on his behalf."
