It couldn't have been later than one A.M when a quiet, consistent mumbling woke Atsumu up.
"Atsumu?"
"Mm... What?"
It almost took him too long to realize why his brother would wake him up.
"Ah shit." Atsumu jumped from his bunk bed, not caring about the loud thump it would make, and turned around to look at Osamu.
And there he was, curled up on his side and one hand covering his mouth.
"Now is it time for that medicine?"
"Mhm."
Atsumu only had one thought on his mind while he got his twin's medicine: he most definitely, absolutely, without a doubt jynxed it.
He just HAD to go and think that Osamu's admittance would finally bring him a peaceful night of sleep. And now look where they were. Osamu was in so much pain he couldn't move, and he was on the verge of puking his guts up.
So much for being the smart twin for once.
"Here you go," Atsumu said as he handed Osamu his medicine. "Do you want me to get mom and dad?"
"No. They fuss too much." Osamu smiled slightly, as if his twin didn't do the same thing.
"Okay. Just sick tonight, or does your head hurt too?"
Osamu made a weak attempt to swat Atsumu away with his free hand, which was honestly hard not to laugh at. "Go back to bed. I'll be fine."
"When will you learn you're a terrible liar?"
Atsumu sat down in front of his brother's bed and crossed his arms. "As long as you're awake, I'm awake."
When they were younger, Atsumu was almost always the one that would get sick between the twins. And then Osamu would do everything he could to make him feel better. Now Atsumu just needed to find a way to return the favor...
And then it hit him.
"I know what will cheer you up, Samu!"
"Oh yeah?"
"We watch a movie!"
Osamu propped himself up on one elbow and raised a brow. "Tsumu, it's like one in the morning. And even though we're awake, our parents are trying to sleep."
"Don't worry, I've got a plan. We already have our game system in here, right? So I disconnect that, bring in the movie player and connect that instead- and maybe bring you a bucket and towel too. You look really green- then boom! We already have the perfect setup."
Osamu layed back down and smiled, clearly excited enough to be distracted by his pain for at least a little bit. "You really do care."
"Of course I do. So much that I'll let you pick the movie even though it's my turn to choose," Atsumu said as he stood up. "So you ponder all of your choices while I get everything set up."
When Atsumu got back into the room and had everything set up, he turned to his brother, who looked the best he had that night.
"I assume you picked your movie?"
"Mhm."
Atsumu raised a brow. "And it is?"
"That new horror movie, Sinister. Mom and dad just bought it I think."
So that was why he looked so smug.
"You're joking, right?"
"You promised me Tsumu."
Atsumu sighed and put his brother's requested movie in. If there is one thing he hates, it's horror movies. He sat back down in front of the bed and glared at Osamu.
"You're lucky I love you."
Osamu gave him an innocent smile. "This is like the first time in three years I've gotten you to watch a horror movie with me, did ya really think I wouldn't take this chance?"
"Touche, brother."
Even though it was very much against his will, Atsumu endured the horrible movie. He got one reprieve when Osamu got sick, but that was only fifteen minutes of escape from the torture.
When the movie finally ended Atsumu turned around to face his twin. Osamu was asleep, and looking much better than he had been earlier on.
"Goodnight, Samu."
