I wake up in the infirmary, my wing bandaged. Mera's voice is playing over the loudspeaker and he's explain ing how the scoring system was done.  There's a mini version of the screen listing who passed on the wall, so I search for my name on it.

I groan as I see that my name isn't up there and I stand up, exiting the infirmary. I quickly head into the bathroom to change back into my uniform before heading out to join everyone else.

Everyone is yelling about how excited they are to have passed except for a few people. I snicker at the look on Bakugo's face as I walk toward him. "You look constipated!"

"SHUT UP, BIRD BRAIN, YOU FAILED TOO!"

I shrug.  "Eh, I don't really care all that much, if I'm being honest."

"DON'T LIE TO ME, YOUR WINGS SAG WHEN YOU'RE UPSET! EVEN IF YOU'RE A VILLAIN, YOU WANTED TO PASS THE EXAM!"

I straighten up my wings. "Whatever, man." I notice Tape Dispenser coming toward me. "If you're here to gossip I'm not interested."

"Not at all, man! I was just wondering, is it true that you fell asleep in Bakugo's arms on the way to the infirmary?"

Much to my confusion, I feel my face heat up. "I don't think that's any of your-"

"Yeah, he fell asleep, so what? You got a problem?!"

"Nope, I was just wondering." He says with a grin, looking at me teasingly.

"Why is he looking at me like that...?" I mumble to myself. My attention is drawn back to Mera as he once again starts talking, semi-congratulating those who passed and telling the ones that failed that there's no time for us to be upset and informing us that we'll still be able to get licences after a special course and test.

"Man, I broke a wing for nothing..." I mumble as I stand outside the building with everyone else, waiting to board the bus.

"How's that wing feel, by the way?" SparkPlug asks in his usual overly cheery tone.

"It's fine. I'll have Recovery Girl heal it when we get back. Now why don't you mind your business?"

"So mean... I just wanted to make sure you were alright..."

"Well it's not necessary."

"Obviously not. You didn't even notice that your wing was broken until we pointed it out. With how you were reacting you would've thought that you just pulled out a feather. Your pain tolerance must be insane."

"Yeah, well I'd hope so, I joined the LOV when I was twelve, so I've been training for a while."

"Wait, really?! What happened to make you join the League, especially at such a young age?!" Snaggletooth joins the conversation.

I tense slightly and glare at him before looking away. "It doesn't matter. What matters is that when you're training with the League, you fight to kill, because that's how heroes will fight against you."

Their eyes widen as they go silent, and now a few more people are also staring at me, but I ignore them. Their opinions don't matter, and neither does their pity.

I don't arrive back at the dorm until everyone's asleep because getting my wing fixed took longer than expected. I'm currently in my bedroom, throwing knives at a wall like I always do when I can't sleep. I stop throwing knives when I hear a sound from the hallway. A door opens and closes and then I hear footsteps going toward the elevator.
