Noel woke up, and got off his bed. “Today the training starts, it's better if I get ready.” he thought to himself. Then changed his clothes. He wore a blue shirt with short black pants. Ate breakfast (cereals and milk), got ready and went outside. There was the sun and the sky was blue and clear, warn temperature, but not too much, basically a perfect day for a training. He ran to the station, bought a ticket for a train to Beta. And now he was on the train, going to Beta. It will be a long trip. The train stopped at SnowTown, Noel saw Mary and said hi to her. She noticed, and sat down next to Noel. “Hey!” she said, “Hi, Mary! Going to Beta, too?” asked Noel, Mary nodded, “Like Jazz, no?” she said, “Yep.” Noel replied and looked out of the window, the doors can be heard closing. The view started to move slowly, segnaling the train got moving. Mary and Noel were talking to each other in the meanwhile, “So, how are you?” Noel questioned
“Good, good, you?”
“I'm alright.”. There was a moment of silence between the two, as if they didn't know what to talk about. Mary looked down while Noel out of the window the view outside, then Mary decided to ask a question. “Where will we be training, in your opinion?”. Noel looked at Mary, “Don't know, maybe in a park like yesterday.” he replied, then went back to stare out o the window. “Everything alright?” she questioned while shifting a little closer to Noel, he had an almost lost gaze. “All good.” he replied, Mary got closer to him, still not invading his personal space. “You look... different.” she told him, “Did something happen? You can talk to me, you know.” she added, with more delicate and gentle tone, but also a little worried. “Just a little nervous. You know, it's the first time I do a 'training'.” Noel explained. Then felt Mary's head leaned on his arm. “I know, I've got the same feeling.” she told him. Noel gave her a side hug with one arm. “We'll give it our all, together.” Mary said, then closed her eyes to relax a bit. The trip will last four or five hours, with two more stops. Mary fell asleep, in Noel's arm with the head on it. It was clear she didn't had many hours of sleep, it could be seen perfectly. “Aw, she fell asleep.” Noel thought to himself while looking at her. Watching her his worry got a little less, knowing he had a friend like Mary that made him less stressed. After the five hours that looked like last an eternity, they arrived at Beta. Noel woke up Mary and they hopped off the train, and the first thing they saw was Derek. “Finally, took you long enough.” he said, “You know how Austin is, Derek.” Mary told him, he rolled his eyes and scoffed. “Whatever, follow me.” he said, motioning with a hand as if to say to come with him. Then started to walk. Noel and Mary gave a glance at each other, and then followed Derek. They came in a big gymnasium. It was very normal, but there was another room. The three went in, there was a long halllway, and very large, the walls were black, the pavement was made of stone with a large red carpet, it was all illuminated by torches, the structure looked ancient after all. Noel and Mary looked around for a few seconds, “What is this place?” Noel asked, “This is the combat area.” Derek replied, “Here you'll practice the basic spells.” he added. Soon Jazz also arrived, “Hey, sorry for being late.” he apologized. The three turned to look at him, Mary waved at him, while Noel said: “No problem, and hi!”. Derek scoffed, “Next time try to put an hour more.” he sarcastically responded. After finishing up the preparations, Noel was at the end of the hall, and the three at the other side. “What should I do?!” Noel shouted so the others could hear him, “The spell to turn off the torches! The one we saw at the library! Try it!” Derek replied. Noel nodded, then lowered and raised his hands, and suddenly moved them downwards. Nothing happened. Derek facepalmed and let out a brief sigh. “It... didn't work. Why?” Jazz questioned, “I think focusing on too many things from the start is difficult.” Mary explained, “You're right. I'll be right back.” Derek warned, then went out of the room, then returned with a stick and walked toward Noel. Derek placed the hand near the stick, raising and lowering it a few times, after the last raise he created some fire on the stick. “Concentrate on this.” he told Noel, then put the burning branch in front of him. Noel took a step back, “Okay.” he replied. Then slowly raised up one hand, and moved it downwards again, right afterwards the flame vanished. Noel couldn't believe what his eyes saw, he did it! Mary and Jazz were also surprised, but content. “Oh, darn, you did-” Derek was interrupted and almost shoved on the floor from Mary and Jazz who ran over to Noel to give him compliments. “He has the blood of a mage...” Derek thought to himself, “It won't be an easy challenge.” he added. “Alright, it's your turn.” he told everyone else. After that, they started to practice the same spell. With some differences though. Derek was checking each of them. Mary instead of turning off the fire she froze it. “Ice, eh?” Derek said, Mary giggled, “I could have inherited it from Riko.” she replied. Derek saw Jazz after, the flame was purple and dark, as if it was corrupted. “Interesting. Remember though you have to use other spells beside the standard ones.” he told them. The three nodded. The traning went on, each training on their element. Mary could change the temperature of the room, Jazz could corrode metal, while Noel could generate small flames from his body. After very long hours they were finally done. They were all sitting on the pavement, exhausted. “Huff... it was very... huff... intense.” Jazz huffed, “Eh... right.” Noel added. Mary was too tired to speak. After the long break, they went out of the gymnasium. They were all talking with each other, and at three of the noon, they all went back to Main Gate, besides obviously Mary who was going to SnowTown, and Derek remained at Beta. Noel was on the train, at the window seat, as always, thinking... “I wonder, if the years at the Wizard Junior Academy will really be rough like Derek told me that one time...”.
He returned back home after a few hours. In bed, with the fan on, to rest. The tiredness though overwhelmed him, his eyelids started to feel heavy, until he fell asleep. Being a mage will be tough, and now that Noel will have to attend his years at Wizard things start to get complicated. We'll see what will happen.
