Noel woke up after some time. He grabbed the phone to see what time it was. 'Fri 12 June" it was written below the hour, it was six o' clock of the following day. “Darn if I slept.” he thought to himself. Then got up from the bed and changed his clothes, putting a blue pajamas, then went back in bed, letting out a small sigh. He started to think of what happened yesterday, after he hopped off the train... “I'll be late, I gotta hurry up.” he thought to himself while getting off the train, making his way home. Then stopped, feeling watched, and a familiar voice started to talk to him, “Here you are,” the voice told him, “now there isn't Derek to save you.” he added. Noel looked around, “Come out.” he said, the voice started to laugh, but then stopped for a few seconds. “Come get me.” it replied. “I don't have time for your games, see you.” Noel answered before storming off. He went back to sleep afterwards, he wasn't feeling like staying up and do nothing in the time. He woke up after at ten, the time where he often wakes up. He went to the bathroom to wash his face, brush his teeth, then changed his clothes. He was wearing a purple T-shirt and short blue pants. Then ate breakfast and got ready to walk outside, but his mother asked him something.
“Where are you going, dear?”
“I'm going to my friends, mom.”
“Fine, come back for dinner, dearie.” the mom smiled, “Okay, see you!” Noel said bye to his mom and went out, closing the door behind him. Then walked around Main Gate. The city was as usual vivid and full of activities. There were children who were playing, some kids that were having conversations, local markets selling things... All normal. Noel bumped into Mary, “Oh-” she looked up and saw Noel, she smiled at him. “Hi!” she greeted him, “Good morning.” Noel replied while caressing her hair. Mary also was wearing a shirt, of a light yellow and bright blue short pants, “How cute, also wearing summer clothes, eh?” Noel said, Mary nodded, “I got used to being here, thanks to your help.” she replied. Noel was happy since he was able to help her to fit in the city, “It's nothing.” he told her. Then he saw Derek running toward them, with Jazz behind. “Guys!” Noel called out. The two stopped, “Follow us, now!” Derek exclaimed, he was serious, so Jazz. “What's hap-” Mary got interrupted by Derek, “I'll explain later, now come, immediately!” . He started to run, the other three followed along. They continued to run, in the meanwhile Noel asked “Where are we going to be more specific?”. The four were trying to not bump into anybody meanwhile. “You'll see it yourself.” Derek replied, “At least tell us when we'll arrive!” Mary said, ”Soon.” Derek responded. They kept running and taking weird directions, every part was becoming less crowded, and when they arrived the place seemed abandoned, but torn apart and desert. There was no soul, if not one, the guy of a few days ago. “Him again?” Noel asked, Derek nodded. The four were staring at the guy, who was turned around. “You came, then.” he said, with playful voice, but a little sinister at the same time. Then he turned to look at them. “Will you tell us who you are now?!” Noel questioned, impatient. “Fine, if you want to know my name so badly...” the guy replied, and took off his hat, revealing spiky gray hair, and a pair of eyes of a bright red, almost as blood. “My name is Alan, Alan Darkstone.” Alan introduced himself, “Well, Alan, you'll pay for what you did to me and my friends.” Noel said, Alan started to laugh, but then his laughter died down, and with a more sinister and almost homocidal voice he replied, “Try me, kids.”. After that Derek sprinted towards Alan, and tried to land a punch at the jaw. But he blocked it immediately and threw Derek toward Mary. “WATCH OUT!” Jazz shouted, then rushed and jumped toward Mary, he grabbed and moved her out of the way. “Ah- thanks, Jazz.” Mary thanked him. Derek though fell on his stomach on the floor. “Derek!” Noel exclaimed. Jazz dashed toward Alan, trying to land a punch from down to upwards aiming for the chin. But Alan dodged it, creating a shockwave that made Jazz back away, “He's strong..” Jazz said. Everyone tried to fight Alan, but they got beaten on the ground, they kept trying though. “Weaklings.” Alan taunted. “That's... Enough...” Mary said out of the blue, the three looked at her. “You.. won't hurt my friends any more!” she shouted, then a blinding light replaced her eyes. The three avoided to look directly at her, it was blinding. Mary got back up, a strong wind making her hair and clothes fly around. She then created some ice shards that flew toward Alan at absurd speed. Alan made a shield appear to block the attack, but more ice that went up from the ground made him fly away. He landed on his feet on the floor. “What?! No, that's not possible.” he thought to himself. Then Mary's eyes stopped glowing, and she fell on the ground on her knees. “Mary!” Jazz said, then looked at Alan. “Alright, you asked for it.” Jazz said, then summoned a huge purple flame that he threw at Alan. He managed to dodge it barely, and also blocked a fire ball from Noel. “Dangit..” Jazz said, his voice was very weak, from the overcharge of power he fainted. Derek and Noel were the only ones standing, with Mary exhausted. Alan was also tired, evading and blocking those attacks wasn't easy. “Not bad for some kids.” he said, then scoffed, “Really not bad.” he repeated. Noel and Derek were on their fighting stance, their muscles tensing up, Alan staring at them, waiting so they can make a move. Noel glanced around, there was nothing but a few rocks. “Derek, I've got an idea.” he told to Derek, “Shoot.” he replied. Noel started to pick up the small rocks, “I distract him, you try to attack.” he explained, but right after Alan appeared behind him. “Oh NO-” Derek got interrupted by an explosion that was occurred where Alan and Noel were standing, “Oh god, and now?” Derek thought to himself. Then Noel walked out of the smoke, going next to Derek. “Is everything okay?” Derek asked him, “Yeah, that was close.” Noel replied. After the smoke dissipated and disappeared, Alan was gone. There wasn't any trace of him, as if he vanished. “He ran, coward.” Derek said. Noel walked over to Mary, who was still sat in pain. He knelt to see how she was doing, “Hey, everything id alright now.” he reassured her. She looked up at him with a face that really looked hurt, “I'm happy about that...” she told him, before falling into his arms because of how exhausted she was. Derek ran up to Jazz who has woken up. “Hey.” Derek called out. Jazz moved his head to look at him. “Hey.” he replied. “You were really impressive back there.” Derek smiled, “Eh, thanks.” Jazz replied, then stood up, so did Derek. Both walked over to Noel, who was holding Mary, exhausted in his arms. “That's what I call an Overflow.” Derek said, Mary gave him a weak smile. “I could have inherited it from Riko..” she replied. Noel picked her up and got on his feet. “Let's head home.” he said, the others nodded, and made their way to Main Gate. This was the first, of the thousands battles that Noel and his friends will have. The real story, begins now.
