An Interesting Day

It was a very hot day, and a week had passed by now. Noel was at home with the fan on, while being on his desk at the computer, just to watch some videos. Derek was reading a book, Jazz was on his phone and Mary, well, she was wandering around. It was one of the normal days that everyone could have. It isn't full of events, no destruction or other things. Noel decided to go out, so he warned his mother and went outdoors. Starting to walk around Main Gate. He saw guys sitting on benches, others that were playing or walking, or simply do homework. Noel saw Mary, “Mary!!” he exclaimed while waving at her. Mary saw him and waved back, then ran toward him. “Noel! Good morning.” she said, “Morning to you, too.” he replied while he gave Mary pats on the head, “How are you?” she asked while looking at him smiling. Noel moved his hand away from Mary's head, “Okay, you?” he asked, “I'm good!” she replied, “There aren't the others with you?” she asked, Noel shook his head. “Oh, okay...” she said, “Soo, want to spend some time together?” she asked, “As friends!” then added, “Sure, let's go.” Noel answered. Mary and Noel were walking around while talking to each other. They approached the station, and saw Derek hop off the train. “Look!” Mary exclaimed while she pointed at Derek, Noel saw him. “Hey!” he said. Derek looked up and saw Noel. The two started to walk toward him, he was wearing a white shirt with short gray pants with pockets. “Oh, it's you.” he said, Mary smiled, “What's up?” Noel asked, “All good.” Derek replied, “You?” he asked, “We're fine, right, Mary?” Noel answered, Mary nodded. “There isn't Jazz?” she asked, Noel did a small sigh, “Sadly no.” he replied, Mary was a little sad about it. “Well, what do we do?” asked Derek. Noel shrugged as if to say he doesn't know, Mary had an idea though in mind. “Do you want to go in the library to see if there are interesting books for magic?” she asked, the two looked at her, a bit astounded. “Why?” Noel questioned, “Well, since Noel will go to the Wizard, I want to learn some things, too.” Mary explained, “Therefore, big brother also used magic.” she added. Derek was left a tad bit surprised, so Noel. “Let me get this straight, Riko is a mage?” he asked, “Yes! He showed me some thingys.” Mary replied, “Interesting...” Derek said, then Noel asked a question to Derek, “Do you want to challenge him?” was what Noel questioned. “That was what I had in mind.” Derek replied, Mary was surprised by this. “You... Really want to challenge him in a Mage Fight?” she questioned, a little worried. “Why not, how strong is he?” Derek asked to Mary, “I mean, I'll tell you he isn't someone to underestimate, since he goes to the academy before you, Derek.” she answered. Noel was listening carefully the conversation the two were having. “I see.” Derek said, “Oh, and he's also good with hand-to-hand combat.” Mary added, “He didn't tell me the person he learned from, though.” she said. “This is getting interesting, I like this mage.” replied Derek. “The real question is, when will he come back?” Noel asked, “I hope soon...” Mary said while looking down, “Don't worry, he can defend himself. He'll be fine.” Derek said with a proud smile. “You said he's a mage, no?” Noel questioned, “Yeah, but I hope he returns safe and sound.” Mary said. They all went out of the station while talking about something else. In the end they decided to take Mary's idea, they went in a library, then took a few books and started to read them. After a couple hours they came out of the library. They went to a garden of roses afterwards and started to practice some spells. Derek was monitoring everything, none of the two was managing to cast a spell. “Why is it so hard?!” Noel said, “It's better if you spare your energy, I'd start with hand-to-hand combat.” Derek said. The two nodded and started to train on it. Derek helped them as instructor. Hours passed, the two were exhausted. They sat on the bench, with heavy breath. “Good, let's do a small break.” Derek said, “How.. huff... are you not.. exhausted?” Mary asked, “Simple, I train every day.” Derek replied, then shrugged his shoulders. “I see.. huff...” Noel said. Derek saw Jazz, “Hey!” he exclaimed. Jazz stopped and looked at Derek, and went to the others, he was worried because Mary and Noel were really tired. “What did you do??” he asked. “They wanted to learn magic and spells in general, so...” Derek replied. Jazz let out a long sigh, “They aren't ready for this...” he told him, “Then let's train all together.” Derek said while clenching a fist. “Eh. Alright.” Jazz replied. From here the training will start, to become Noel's squad stronger and ready to fight. Derek started to speak sternly with serious tone. “The training won't be easy. Let's go to Beta, you will train there.” he told them, “Got it.” Noel said, “Okay!” Mary replied, Jazz nodded. Derek then walked away, leaving the three alone. “What did you have in mind?!” Jazz questioned to both of them. “The idea was hers.” Noel replied, while pointing his finger at Mary. She looked down, with a lot of guilt. Jazz sat on the bench next to her, and spoke in a delicate and gentle tone. “Why did you want to do this?” he asked to her, “We didn't have anything to do... So, I decided to go to the library to read some things about magic, and do a few spells. I'm sorry...” Mary explained, trying to apologize. Jazz, since  he had a kind soul forgave her. “Fine, you're forgiven.” he said, Mary looked at him, surprised. “R-really? That fast?” she asked, he nodded to reply. Mary then became happy and gave Jazz a hug whilel saying: ”Thank youu!!”. Jazz hugged her back, “It's nothing.” he said, then let her go. “For once you aren't the one doing the stupid decisions.” he told him, Noel replied with an offended “Hey!”. Mary giggled a little at his reaction. Jazz smiled, “I'm just kidding.” he told him, Noel scoffed, “Alright, joke succeeded.” he said. The three got up from the bench. It was midday at this point. “Oh well, tomorrow we have to go to Beta, again.” Jazz said, “Mhm, see you at the station!” Mary said and waved them goodbye, then ran off. “How much hurry she had.” Noel said, “Yeah, I'm going, too, see you around.” Jazz said, waved him goodbye and walked away. Noel started to go home, but then stopped on his tracks. He was feeling watched, as if someone was following him. He looked around but saw no one, then that feeling went away. He went home. The noon flew by, he ate dinner and went to bed. Who knows what will happen tomorrow, it'll be discovered soon.
