We were all around the RV again. The men were trying to fix something with it. I watched Shane as he laughed with Carl. He always acted different around Carl. Always kind and patient, it was sweet

My thoughts were interrupted by the radio next to dale speaking again.

"Hello, base camp! Can anyone out there hear me? Base camp this is T-Dog. Anybody hear me?" The radio spoke.

"Hello? Hello? Receptions bad on this end. Repeat. Repeat." Dale said.

"Shane is that you?" The radio spoke again

"Is it them?" Lori asked

"We're in some deep shit. We're trapped in the department store"

"They say they're trapped?" Shane asked standing up, rubbing his forehead. I gave dale a pitiful look knowing this couldn't be good at all.

"There are geeks all over the place. Hundreds of em. Were surrounded"  By the sounds of what T-dog was explaining they were in deep shit. Very deep shit.

"T-dog, repeat the last. Repeat." Dale tried but the radio went dead

"He said the department store." Lori stared and dale agreed "Shane?"

"No way we do not go after them. We do not risk the rest of the group. Y'all know that." Shane said firmly

"So we're just going to leave her there?" Amy said waking up to shane

"Look Amy I know that this isn't easy.."

"She volunteered to go to help the rest of us." Amy cut of shane

"I know and she know the risks, right? See if she's trapped, she's gone. So we just have to deal with that. There's nothing we can do." Shane said making sure to show amy there was no point in arguing.

"She's my sister you son of a bitch." Amy stormed off. Lori gave shane a glare before following after Amy.

Even though Shane might have been a little harsh he still seemed to be right about the whole thing. If they were stuck with loads of walkers then sending more people would be like sending people on a suicide mission.

"Well fuck." I sighed and shane just simply nodded in agreement

Hours had passed since the conversation over the radio. I was sat on the floor next to Lori who was cutting Carls hair and Shane sat in front of the three of us. I wiped at the blade of the axe in my hand for a moment before continuing to sharpen it.

"Baby, the more you fidget, the longer it takes. So don't, okay?" Lori spoke to her son

"If you think this is bad, wait till ya start shaving. That stings. The day comes and you'll be wishing for your mamas haircuts." Shane said to the boy

"I'll believe it when I see it." Carl said causing shane to laugh

"I'll tell you what, you get through this with some manly dignity and tommorow i'll teach you to catch something special. I will teach you to catch frogs." Shane told the boy

"I've caught a frog before." Carl said unimpressed

"I said frogs, plural. And it is an art, my friend. It is not to be taken lightly. There are ways and means. Few people know about it. I'm willing to share my secrets." Shane said causing Carl to look at me and lori.

"Oh no were girls. You talk to him." She turned the boys head back around

"Why do we need frogs, plural?" Carl asked
