Time had passed since the argument with Daryl and the group. Rick had managed to convince everyone to let him and Daryl back to Atlanta, which no one was overly thrilled about, especially Lori and Shane.I walked over to the car where Shane and Rick seemed to be having an argument. I threw the extra can of petrol in the boot before joining the two men.
"Well I don't get it okay, Rick? So could you throw me a bone here man? Could you tell me why?" Shane was asking Rick. Rick looked to me for help but Shane was right
"Sorry rick I agree with shane. Why would you risk your life for a douche bag like Merle Dixon?" I joined in
"Hey choose your words more carefully." Daryl said from the back of the moving truck
"No I did. Douche bags the nicest way I could say what he is." I told him
"Merle Dixon- The guy wouldn't give you a glass of water if you were dying of thirst." Shane added.
It was weird, in every situation that rose recently I agreed with Shane. He was thinking smart. How to keep the majority safe and having Merle dixon here pissed, because he would be after what Rick did was not a good idea.
"What he would or wouldn't do doesn't interest me. I can't let a man die of heat and exposure. Thirst and exposure. We left him like an animal caught in a trap. That's no way for anything to die, let alone a human." Rick told us. I'll give it to Rick he definitely had his morals.
"So you and Daryl? That's your big plan." Lori asked joining in too. She was obviously pissed at Rick for leaving again. Rick looked towards Glenn showing that he wanted the boy to join.
"Oh come on." Glenn sighed
"You know the way. You've been there before. In and out, no problem. You said so yourself. It's not fair for me to ask- I know that, but I'd feel better with you along." Rick told him.
He was right. Glenn being there would probably give them a better chance, he has experience in Atlanta and knows his way around.
"That's great, now your gunna risk three men, huh?" Shane was getting more annoyed as the seconds passed
"Four" T-dog joined.
This was definetly getting worse by the second. I mean what if the camp got a herd walk through. And more of them there means there more likely to mess up
"My day just gets better and better don't it?" Daryl huffed at T-dog
"You see anybody else here stepping up here to save your cracker brothers ass." T dog said
"That's four." I sighed looking at Shane
"It's not just four. Your putting everyone one of us at risk, just know that Rick. Come on you saw that Walker. It was here, it was at camp. They're moving out of the cities. They come back then we need every able body here. We need 'em to protect camp." Shane said to Rick.
It was obvious that Rick was not fazed by this. The only thing that bothered Rick's mind right now is the thought that he's to blame for Merle being stuck on the roof.
"It seems to me what you really need here are more guns."
"Right the guns" Glenn said realising what Rick meant.
"Wait what guns?" I asked.
"Six shotguns, two high powered rifles, over a dozen handguns. I cleaned out the cage back at the station before I left. I dropped the bag at Atlanta when I got swarmed. It's just sitting there on the street waiting to be picked up." Rick told the group who didn't know
