The day had long begun but it had taken me ages to force myself to get up. I could hear the rest of camp getting up and beginning their day of work. With a groan i finally got up and dressed

"Hey can I come in?" A voice called from outside the tent

"Yeah." I said back and looked to see Lori walking in

"Hey I just wanted to thank you for the other day with Carl and letting him help you with your horse" lori spoke

"It's not problem. He liked snow a lot so thought he should get to say goodbye." I smiled

"I'm just worried about him now. Everything's so different and I'm worried he's going to grow up upset and unhappy." she said sadly

"Lori I wouldn't worry. Carls a very happy kid. I mean he's got you and Rick for parents and you both love him as much as you could. That's all he'll ever need" I reassured her and she just nodded "Come on we'll go join the rest of the group."

I understand why Lori would be worried. A world like this is no normal childhood but Carl was lucky to have all these people around who care and love him. It's all he needs

The walk back to camp was quiet but nice. Neither of us had anything that had to be said. I looked to see the rest of our group gathered near the Rv. Andrea and Amy seemed to have over a dozen fish that they'd caught which instantly brightened my mood. It didn't last long though once I looked at dale and saw the worry across his face.

"I uh don't want to alarm anyone but we may have a problem." The elderly man said and raised his hand to point

I followed where he was pointing. Jim was stood on a hill and he seemed to be, digging? This can't be good.

We all walked up to where jim was still digging. There were many grave like holes scattered around, which instantly made everyone unsettled.

Jim was working on a new hole. He looked exhausted and the heat from the sun was glaring down on him. He didn't seem fazed by our presence but instead carried on digging

"Hey. Jim, Jim why don't you hold up, all right? Give me a second here please." Shane began but jim continued to dig

"What do you want?" Jim asked but he sounded exhausted

"We're all just concerned that's all." Shane continued

"Dale says you've been out here for hours." I added

"So?"

"So why are you digging? Are you heading to china?" Shane said trying to keep the situation cool still

"Why does it matter i'm not hurting anyone?" Jim finally stopped digging and looked up at us all

"Yeah except yourself. It's a hundred degrees today you can't keep this up." I said. I was hoping more of the group would chime in to help because at this rate me and shane would have to drag him out the hole

"Sure I can watch me." Jim said going to start digging again.

"Jim their not gunna say it so I will. Your scaring people. Your scaring my son and Carols daughter." Lori chimed in while holding carl close to her.

"They got nothing to be scared of. I mean what the hell people. I'm out here by myself. Why don't you all just go and leave me the hell alone?" Jim was obviously getting annoyed and angry now, so the probability of me and shane dragging him out was becoming more likely

"We think that you need to take a break, okay? Why don't you go and get yourself in the shade, some food maybe. I'll tell you what, maybe in a little bit I'll come out here and help you myself. Jim, just tell me what it's about. Why don't you just go ahead and give me that shovel." Shane tried again pointing to the shovel
