Chapter 9

It was how i thought it'd be. We'd arrived at the C.D.C to see the massacre that had taken place. The surroundings of the building was littered with bodies which flies were swarming. The smell was overwhelming.

"All right everybody keep moving. Okay. Stay quiet." Shane said as him and Rick led the rest of the group through the graveyard of bodies

"Keep moving. Come on." Rick added.

I kept my gun pointed, checking around us every second for any walkers. Once we got to the front of the building any hope in me left for getting inside went. The place was shuttered closed and dark. No ones here.

"Nothing?" Shane asks as he pounds on the shutters, hoping someone would be inside and hear.

"There's nobody here" I sighed

"Then why are the shutters down?" Rick asked.

It was obvious Rick hadn't accepted that no one was here yet. I don't blame him. He's desperate for safety. Safety for his family. But it wasn't here

"Walkers!" Daryl shouted. Daryl shot a walker and I followed his actions doing the same.

"You led us into a graveyard!" Daryl shouted again but this time directly at Rick

"He made a call." Shane said trying to defend his friend

"The wrong damn call." Daryl said still annoyed

"Just shut up! You hear? Shut up! Rick this is a dead end!" Shane was beginning to panic too as more walkers began towards us

"Where are we gonna go?" I asked. Anywhere but here preferably.

"She's right. We can't be here, this close to the city after dark." Lori joined in

"Fort bennig. Rick, still an option" Shane suggested

"On what? No food, no fuel. It's a 100 miles." Andrea said

"125. I checked the map." Glenn agreed

"Forget Fort Brennig right now. We need answers for tonight!" I shouted shooting another walker.

"We'll think of something." Rick said

"All right. Let's go. Everybody back to the cars. Move!" Shane shouted and everyone began to listen but Rick stopped.

"The camera- it moved" Rick let out shocked

"You imagined it." Shane said trying to pull him along. I stopped with them, shooting the walkers while they sorted out their shit.

"Rick it's dead. It's an automated device. Its gears, okay. Now come on" Shane tried again

"We need to go. There coming from all over!" I shouted. Rick needed to let it go. We won't be able to hold all these walkers back any longer.

"I know your in there. I know you can hear me!" Rick shouted banging on the shutters

Shane and Lori began trying to drag him away but it seemed useless. They were both shouting at him but he just ignored them as he continued to shout at the camera

"Please, we're desperate. We have women, children, no food, hardly any gas." Rick pleaded "Keep your eyes open! If you don't let us in your killing us!"

I stopped shooting now and instead joined lori and shane, trying to drag Rick away and back to the cars

"Your killing us. Your killing us. Your killing us!" Rick repeated over again.

Just as we were finally starting to get him to move a sound came from behind us all. The sound of shutters opening. We all turned back to see it to be true. They really were opening. Rick was right.
