💿: "imgonnagetyouback" by Taylor Swift

I've noticed one attorney's stolen glances at me the entire night. I was laughing to myself since this man is a man I haven't seen in ages.

Then, Harvey's voice replays in my head. "Don't do it." The small voice says to me.

But I'm talking to him; nonetheless.

It seriously can't end that badly.

I walk up to him, drink in hand, courage in mind.

"Olivia. You've been here the entire night?" Sebastian Hayes takes a sip from his whiskey.

"Says the man who's been eyeing me the entire night." I scoffed a bit. "Don't act like you haven't seen me."

"You're right; who hasn't seen you?"

"Damn straight." I laughed a bit.

"You look.. gorgeous. Anything new?" The man looked me up and down.

"Greggory Slate. Oh wait, you know all about that." I put my drink down on a waiter's tray. "You're seriously taking this case against me, Seb?"

"The second I saw the name 'Specter' on it, I couldn't turn it down." He smirked.

"Ah, you have a thing for my brother?" I sarcastically quipped.

"I wish it was your brother I had the history with." He downed his whiskey. "I suppose you're here to discuss the case?"

"You happen to know anything about your clients?" I asked. "You think they're—"

"Lying? Of course not. They're innocent as hell." He put down his whiskey on a waiter's hand nearby. "But I don't wanna talk shop with you, Liv."

"Well, we're gonna talk business anyway. Your clients are bullshitting—"

I really, really tried to talk about the case. Trust me, I did.

"I want to dance with you. So, please. Care to join me?" He batted that goddamn smile at me.

He took his hand out as the song 'Maybe This Time' by Michael Martin Murphy started playing. When I was just a paralegal and he was a clerk, we'd always dance around to this song. Seb reached associate before I did, then he resigned before he saw me become an associate.

"You've got to be—" I shook my head; smiling and looking down. I scoffed. "You're not serious."

His hand was still out as the lyrics played:
Two old friends meet again;
Wearin' older faces
And talk about the places they've been

But after that, I took his hand and started dancing with him.

I laid my head on his chest, hearing his fast and calm heartbeat.

"I've missed you, Liv." He said in my ear. "It's been years."

"You didn't tell me you made partner over at your firm." I said softly.

"I mean.. you didn't exactly tell me when you graduated law school and became an associate."

"I graduated 2 years after you did, dumbass."

"That's 2 years more of experience. Hence, I deserved partner at Skadden." He held onto my hand.

"I'm going to make partner and kick your ass. Mark my words." I smiled as I lifted my head off his chest.

"Classic Olivia Specter. Making an issue out of things that don't need to be one. You never changed." He smirked at me.

"Who likes change?" I laughed softly as I moved my feet to the rhythm of the song. "You clearly do. Speaking of change, how's your wife?"
