Me and DD have been dating for a while now. The only people who know are my friends and his friends. No one else.
I feel so insecure when I'm around him. He's do good looking and confident. That's not me. I'm fat and ugly. I'm not good enough for DD. DD should be dating people that look way better than me.
I stood on the scale this morning. I actually gained more weight since the last time I weighed myself. I couldn't help but compare myself to DD. He's always so put together, so effortlessly attractive. And me? I feel like I'm just falling apart, bit by bit. Slowly I started to cry. Crying because I didn't want to lose DD but I know he's gonna leave me.
The number was horrendous.
"Everything ok?" DD asked walking in the bathroom
"Yeah...yeah everything's fine," I said quickly wiping my eyes
"You been crying haven't you? Darrian-"
"David look at me! I'm not the most attractive guy on the planet. Are you with me because you feel sorry for me? There are so many other people you could be with but you chose me?!" I asked
"I love you Darrian. I got with you because I love you. No other person makes me feel the way you do," DD said stepping close to me
He was hovering over me, his head tilted slightly. DD grew a lot so his towering height was kinda intimidating to me. He closed the distance between us and I felt his lips on me.
I always loved our kisses.
"You love me?" I asked thinking this was a trick
"Yes Darrian. I love you," DD said picking me
Ok why is he picking up my fat ass????
"I love you too," I whispered
"Now I'm going to work, you gon be okay baby? I don't wanna hear you talking like this anymore," DD said
"I'll be fine. You be careful. I'm gonna go home. My mom is on a business trip, so if you wanna stay over," I said raising my eyebrows
"I'm definitely staying the night. Alight I gotta get going. I love you," DD said pecking my lips
"Love you too," I said as he left
I was in awe at my life lately. I have such a wonderful boyfriend. Even though he's older and works for a gang, DD still treats me with most respect, affection, and love. Even on my worst days he's still being positive to me.
I walked out his room and got myself together. I left his house and went next door to mine. I settled in the living room and started watching Teen Titans Go!
My phone buzzed and it was my dad. He's not the most supportive parent in the world. I reluctantly answered his FaceTime call.
"Hey dad," I said
"Hey. Darrian you gotta stop sitting on your ass all the time," my dad snapped
That hurts
"Dad-"
"I don't want to argue with you today. Your mom and I have been talking recently. We think it's best that you stop with the junk food and staying at home all the time. Get some fresh air, eat healthy. Darrian you're only 16 and if I'm being honest you're gaining too much weight too quickly. It's not healthy," my dad said
Just what I need right now. Another blow to myself.
I held back the tears as he continued to talk. After he was done, I said bye and hung up. I cried for a very long time.
My own father is disappointed in me.
You know, I wouldn't be mad if DD were to cheat on me with someone more prettier.
I looked down at myself. Definitely not a swimsuit model.
I wiped my eyes and decided on taking a nap. A couple hours later I woke up to DD's friends Josh, Dayvon, and Kori. I quickly got up and went to put on a hoodie so they wouldn't see my chubby arms.
"Hey guys," I said walking back in
"Hey," Josh said
"Hi baby," DD said kissing my head
"Darrian, your boyfriend is a crazy mothafucka. Why this nigga shoot a guy for not having enough money?" Kori asked laughing
"You literally answered your own question," DD laughed
"Crazy, man," Dayvon said
I was always comfortable around his friends. I seen them as brothers. They included me in events they did and made sure I was good when DD wasn't around.
I excused myself and went to my room. Once again I stood in the mirror. I studied myself more this time.
"Darrian you are the most beautiful person on this Earth," DD said
"You're just saying that," I said
"I mean that shit. You're beautiful Darrian. I would choose you over and over and over again. Nobody compares to you. Your maturity, your smile, your laugh, your kindness, your everything is the reason why I wanted you. I love your body so much. You're a 10 to me. Always and forever," DD said
He always knows what to say.
"It's hard DD. I wanna be perfect for you," I admitted
"You are perfect for me. Don't ever forget that," DD said
I leaned into his embrace, feeling the warmth and love radiate from him. For a moment, I allowed myself to believe that I was enough just as I was. With DD's unwavering support and love, I knew I could face my insecurities and slowly start to see myself the way he saw me.
"I love you David, to the moon and back," I said kissing him.
"I love you too. I'll never stop loving you," DD said smiling
