Chapter 26

Shawn Pov

I had a lot of fun with Cassie when we were on stage. I think I might want to make my move and ask her out. I mean, I'm pretty good looking and I can sing. Isn't that what most girls want? I'm really nervous so I decide to talk to Cameron about it.

I go to his hotel room and knock on the door. I'm relieved when he opens it and I see that Nash and Hayes aren't there so I can talk to him alone.

"Hey, Shawn." He says.

"Hey. Do you have a minute to talk?" I ask.

"Yeah sure. Come on in." Cam says. I mumble a thank you and walk in. "What's up?" He asks.

"I have a girl problem." I admit.

"You came to the right man." He says. "What is your problem?" He pats the bed for me to lay down and I do.

"Well," I sigh. I look over to him while he sits like a therapist. "I like Cassie a lot and-"

"I see your problem." He cuts me off.

"I didn't finish my-"

"Shh."

"But Cam you don't know what's-"

"Shh."

I sigh and let Cameron continue talking. "Your problem is that you're thinking Cassie might be crazy so you're too scared to ask her out."

"Yes- no- wait, what? Cassie's not crazy." I say.

"Probably not, but she's crazy for you. She likes you and it's obvious." Cameron says.

"Really? I just don't know." I admit.

"What don't you know?" Cam asks.

"I don't know how to ask her out." I explain.

"Ah. Now I see your problem and understand your problem." Cam says. "All you have to do is make it subtle. Start a conversation with her and then ask. Like this, I'll be you and you'll be Cassie." Cam instructs.

"Umm, okay." I say. I never thought I'd have to role play Cassie.

"Okay, here we go." Cam clears his throat. "Hey, Cassie." He starts.

"Uhm, hi, Cam- I mean Shawn." I stutter.

"How's it going?" He asks.

"Pretty good."

"Maybe we should go out sometime. I mean, I like you a lot and I know you like me too." Cam says. Just as he says that Hayes and Nash walk in.

"What the heck is going on?" Hayes asks.

"Is there something you guys aren't telling us?" Nash asks.

"What?" I ask.

"Are you guys in gay love?" Hayes questions. "Because if you are I called it."

"Damn it, now I owe Hayes twenty bucks. Thanks guys." Nash says.

"Shawn wants to ask Cassie out so I'm making him role play how it should go." Cameron says.

"Yeah." I agree.

"Dude, you got this. You're Shawn Mendes. You can sing! Do you know how much girls dig that?" Nash says to me. "Oh and Hayes, yeah you owe me twenty dollars now." Hayes rolls his eyes at Nash.

"I guess." I shrug.

"Go get her, boy!" Hayes teases.

"Thanks guys." I say. I take a deep breath and get ready to do this.

"Wait, Shawn!" Nash says.

"Yeah?"

"We need to fix... that." he gestures towards me.

"Fix what?"

"Your wardrobe." Cam says.

"Guys I'll be fine like this." I say.

"If you say so." Hayes says.

"Are you sure you don't want to borrow cologne or anything?" Nash asks.

"Nah I'm good." I assure them.

"Okay, good luck." Cam says.

Once I leave the room and the door is closed I smell my flannel. "I smell fine." I mumble. I smell my shirt one more time and rethink everything.

I open the door and pop my head in. "Nash?" I ask.

"You came back for cologne didn't you?" He asks.

"Yep."

"Here let me grab it." Nash says.

"Shawn, what are you doing?" Matt asks.

"Oh, I'm borrowing Nash's cologne." I say.

"Oh okay. But why?" He asks.

"I'm asking Cassie out today." I say proudly.

"Oh, really?" He says almost in a competitive tone. I nod and Matt walks away.

Matthew POV

No no no no no. I'm asking Cassie out. I'm going to be the guy that gets her. I like her way more than Shawn does and I'm going to get to her first.

I'm planning on how to do this when I bump into Chloe. "Oh, sorry." I say to Chloe.

"It's all good. What's the hurry?" She asks.

"I'm going to ask Cassie out." I say.

"Really? I thought it was Shawn that liked her." Chloe said.

"Look, I have to go." I say.

"Bye." Chloe shrugs. I continue on my way to Cassie and I end up bumping into her to.

"Oh gosh I'm so sorry!" She says.

"It's okay." I chuckle. "Look, can I ask you something?"

"Sure." Cassie says. She looks so adorable standing there like that. I just want to hug her.

"Would you like to go out with me tonight?" I ask.

"I would love to." Cassie says.

I smile in relief. "Great. How about we go to Taco Bell?" I suggest.

"Sounds great." Cassie says.

"Perfect, I'll see you at the lobby for 6:30?" I ask.

"Sure." She says smiling.

1-0 Matt.

Shawn Pov

I finish putting on cologne and I'm on my way to Cassie's hotel room when I hear Matthew and her talking.

I stop and eavesdrop because Matt seemed almost angry about me asking Cassie out. I wish I hadn't borrowed Nash's cologne after I hear what they're saying.

It was a waste of time. I just wish I could've got there faster. I told them I didn't need cologne! I told them I didn't need to change or fix my hair!

Now Cassie's going out with Matt. Fantastic. Just my luck. And I know I like her more than Matt does. I just thought Matthew wouldn't do something like that. I thought he was a better friend. But I guess he isn't.

Maybe I'll just have to try and get Cassie to like me more than Matt. I'll have to make Matt jealous! I'll make him jealous so he'll break up with Cassie and she'll be mine.

I'm such a genious. Not only am I good looking and a great singer, but now I'm a genius. Looks like I've just tied the score too. Matt's not the only one with a plan.
