Adrian Pucey had never been nervous to go back home. In fact, he loved his Manor and everything it represented; unlike many of the Sacred twenty-eight families, the Puceys were loving and supporting, always respecting tradition but never going as far as to burn someone off their family tree for not adhering to it.

Now, however, Adrian was afraid of what he might encounter when he stepped into his dinning room. His parents had requested his appearance in a family dinner they would host before he returned back to Hogwarts for his final year. He had no idea what could they possibly want from him, but in case it wasn't a good thing, he decided to not bring Rose with him and instead come alone.

He entered the dinning room with a nervous smile on his face. His mother looked gorgeous in her black and silver robes whilst his father wore matching ones but clearly for men, they both smiled at the sight of their only child.

"Hello, darling," Annalise Pucey spoke, standing from her seat at one end of the table to kiss his cheek. "How are you?"

"I've been alright," Adrian responded, walking towards the other end of the table to shake his father's hand.

"Good, son, good," his father answered, sitting and motioning for Adrian to do the same beside his mother. Adrian sat and looked from his mother to his father, waiting on either one to speak. Sophia had found interest in the napkin before her, and Marius was staring at his hands as if he had never seen them before.

Food materialised before Adrian, but before he could begin to eat his father cleared his throat.

"You're almost twenty-one," he commented, a sad look in the man's eye.

Adrian's mouth went dry, he knew where this conversation was bound to go. "Still a few years to go, Father," he said, picking up his goblet and taking a big gulp.

"Have you spoken to Avalon?" Annalise asked, taking a bite of her food with the delicacy of a proper pureblood.

"Just this morning," Adrian answered, lifting a brow at the strange conversation. "Why?"

"I had Seraphina over for tea just yesterday," she hummed, turning her full attention to her son. "She had some very interesting things to say about her children, especially about Avalon."

Adrian turned towards his father in confusion, but the man merely spared him a glance before he occupied himself with his own food. He turned back to his mother and spoke. "What did she say?"

"Only that the Morgensterns had finally arranged a marriage for Avalon," she said with a smile, but Adrian could detect a bit of worry in her eyes. "They still haven't found a proper suitor for Amara."
