I blinked, trying to adjust to the sudden brightness after hours of the blindfold. I blinked again, startled when 'Set the fire to the third bar' by Snow Patrol blared over the speakers. My vision cleared as I took in Becky smiling at me from behind a bar.
"What are you doing?" I laughed. "You're too far away over there."
"Do you realise where we are, Freen?" Becky asked.
I walked up to the bar and sat on a stool, trying to recognise where I was.
"Oh my God - we're in Loveheart, aren't we?" I giggled.
"Where we first met." Becky agreed, grinning.
"What are you up to?" I tried to sound stern.
"Would you like a drink?" Becky's smile grew when I just nodded. I laughed as I watched her show off her bartending skills, impressed that she still had them. She placed a wine spritzer in front of me, jogging a memory from the first night I met her.
"How did you know my favourite drink was a wine spritzer? That first night, all I drank in front of you was champagne." Becky just smirked and leaned across the bar to kiss me.
"I saw you the moment you walked into the club, Freen, I watched you walk over to that booth. I couldn't keep my eyes off you. I went behind the bar so I could get a better look at you and saw you and Nam talking to Mind. You hypnotized me from the first moment I saw you."
"You saw me first? Impossible - I was actually drooling when I first laid eyes on you." I laughed.
"I loved you the moment I saw you." Becky breathed, her voice as soft as a whisper.
"Are you trying to make me blush?" I teased, moving my face inches away from her beautiful face, "because it's working."
Being here, in Loveheart, where it all started, listening to the song that first caught my heart, was more than special – it was magical. My heart swelled with love for this woman.
"Marry me, Freen." Becky murmured, her eyes drifting closed. "I'm asking you here, because this is where I realised it would always be you. I'm not asking as a famous rock star: I am asking you as the barwoman that saw you here that first night and knew she would never be able to let you go... Marry Me."
My breath stopped as Becky pulled out a small black box and opened it. There, nestled against velvet, was the ring she had given me three years ago.
"Yes," I couldn't stop the tears coursing down my cheeks. "Of course I'll marry you."
Becky jumped over the bar, scooping me into her arms as she kissed me.
"So we come full circle." Becky placed the ring on my left hand. "I knew this ring would always be yours." She smiled through her tears, kissing my hand before pressing her lips against mine again. I sighed into her, running my fingers through her hair.
"Where did we..." I asked breathlessly. I wanted to kiss every inch of her body. Becky caught my mood and led me into the corridor. I giggled as she pulled me into Jake's office. I guess we were reliving all our old memories tonight. They had never tasted sweeter.

A few hours later, Loveheart was packed with our family and friends. Grace was with Becky's parents for the weekend and it felt wrong not having her with us at such an important moment.
Even my parents turned up, and even more surprising, was that they were over the moon about our news. I still felt I was living in a parallel universe with them, but I could see in their eyes they were genuinely happy for us. The bond my father and Becky had formed was unbreakable: Becky saved her daughter and granddaughter, as well as her business.
