The three of us stared at the starter Pokemon, eyes wide. They were letting us choose?

"Are these three going to evolve into those weird final evolutions?" Gabriel asked.

Keenan shrugged. "Honestly, I'm not sure," he admitted. "Back then, conditions were right for them to evolve to these variants. I'm not sure about now, even if they are their offspring."

"What do you mean back then?" Trinity wondered, frowning.

"Listen up, you three," Kalakaua said, wrapping his arms around Keenan and Tatsumi's shoulders, ginning. "These three Pokemon are actually..."

"The Hisuian variants of them!" Tatsumi finished his sentence, smirking.

The three of us stared blankly at them.

"You're joking, right?" I deadpanned.

"Nope," Keenan chuckled. "These variants of Decidueye, Samurott, and Typhlosion are actually from a past era of Sinnoh, when it was called Hisui."

"How did you get them to evolve like that?" Trinity asked him.

"That's easy," Keenan replied, holding out his hand. "I used the Time Orb." He materialized a glowing blueish-green orb, glistening in the sunlight.

"So that's one of the Plate equivalents," I gasped. "You can change their genetics to that of the past?"

"Something like that," Keenan said. "But enough of that. You three, choose."

Oshawott, Cyndaquil, and Rowlet all perked up, stepping forward. Oshawott pushed the other two behind it, puffing up its chest. Cyndaquil shot a Flamethrower at it. While it did nothing to it, it made it mad. It glared at it and proceeded to strike it with a Water Gun. Rowlet tried to break up at the fight, pecking at Oshawott.

Before it could turn into an all-out brawl, Typhlosion and Decidueye sighed and picked up their respective children. Well... except for Samurott. He was grinning and cheering for his child.

Kalakalaua started laughing. "Good job, Oshawott. Showing that you're the best."

"Hey, Cyndaquil didn't take damage at all," Tatsumi pointed out.

"We can be competitive later," Keenan said, though, he was still smirking at the spectacle. "Which one do you three want?"

The three of us were sweating nervously, becoming used to the three's shenanigans.

But I immediately knew what I wanted.

I stepped in front of Oshawott, who looked up at me curiously. When he realized what I wanted, it began to grin.

"Osha?"

"Yeah, you guessed it. I want you to join me," I said, grinning.

"Good choice," Kalakaua said, slapping me on the back. When he saw that I didn't budge, he smirked. "Damn, you're strong. Perfect for Oshawott."

I knelt down and patted Oshawott on the head. It nuzzled into my hand eagerly.

"He seems to like you," Kalakaua said, handing me his Poke Ball. "Though, be warned, if he evolves into a Hisuian Samurott, he'll become more aggressive."

"Nah, that's perfect for me," I said, picking up Oshawott and holding him in my arms.

"What about you two?" Keenan asked Trinity and Gabriel.

"I'll choose next!" Trinity said eagerly, walking over to Rowlet, who cooed when he saw her.

"It's nice to see a pretty girl choose the child of my Pokemon," Keenan said, smirking at her.
